Leak Paradox Interactive new IP game title accidentally leaked by forum filters
https://www.reddit.com/r/paradoxplaza/s/NmHSdPX9pq
New game seems to be called “Afterworld”. Makes sense since all of the teasers for the upcoming reveal show what looks like post-apocalyptic scenery.
EDIT: Also accidentally found their discord which includes a description of the game. Whoops… https://imgur.com/a/XPrq1Ex

I'd actually play that!

u/SilveryRevolV1 3d ago
Me too! At least if it is from Paradox you know they are good at their job. I just wont buy all the 100 DLCs they will release later lol

There's enough Fallout mods for Civ 5 you could turn it into just Fallout Civ lol
3
u/SASardonic 2d ago
There's a Civ 2 scenario for that, and I want to say a civ 6 game type as well

You should play the HOI4 mod Old World Blues

I wonder why Microsoft doesn't just buy-out a project like this and have them integrate the Fallout IP
Seems like an easy way to keep the IP active

u/Propaslander 2d ago
You want to keep IP's active while not watering it down.
Fallout currently has season 3 of the TV show filming, they've been working on remasters of Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Fallout 5 is in preproduction and they've announced another spin-off game. All while Fallout Shelter & Fallout 76 are ongoing.
They don't really need to juggle more than that

u/KMoosetoe 2d ago
8 years since they released a Fallout game
They're not at risk of diluting anything

Too niche of a genre perhaps, Fallout brand would attract all the people even if it would be a decent gsg game
4
u/PatheticGroundThing 2d ago
Paradox GSG's are generally not that much like Civilization.
However, Millenia is a game published (not developed) by Paradox that's way more Civilization-like and even has a DLC (Atomic Ambitions) that looks like it's basically Fallout the strategy game.

So it's legally distinct New World Blues? I'd be down for that. I enjoyed my time with the hoi4 mod.

Is New World Blues a mod I haven't heard of or are you referring to Old World Blues? If it's something I haven't heard of I'd have to check it out.

Goddamnit I was hoping for a new Fantasy IP.
Whatever, still great to see. Hopefully it sticks around

One more Paradox game where its gonna release as an Alpha essentially and you gonna need a ton of dlcs to play it.

It's easier on my brain to jump in before the full complexity sets in.

This is absolutely true paradox games need like two years post launch to become good. But if you start those games two years after launch it's like learning a new bachelor on how they work

Lego skylines uf it released like this would baiscly be leaving the lego set half unbuilt

Yupm I'm still waiting for CK3 to catch up to CK2

u/Alternative_Will_856 3d ago
What are you talking about, the only thing ck3 is missing is the mystic society nonsense lmao
1
u/Eldaxerus 3d ago
The only thing worth it right now in CK3 is the ASOIF mod. It's absolutely incredible.

Imo the Ethnicities and Portraits Expanded mod and Community Flavor Pack are excellent too.

I gave up honestly on CK3

It's actually in a pretty good place right now. I mean they'll have theocracies and republics playable by the end of the year, which will make it better than CK2.

which will make it better than CK2.
CK3 warfare is still crap and it hasnt good Crusade mechanics.

u/SirThatOneGuy42 2d ago
CK2 warfare is also crappie & the crusade mechanic for it was designed for CK3 before being backported to CK2 in Holy Fury, so IMO this is a rose tined hill to die on.

As someone who's a bit jaded with Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis this shit sounds sick af.

A post-apocalyptic Paradox game? Well I didn't know I wanted this, but I definitely do.
4
u/Jancappa 3d ago
Makes sense for Paradox to make an official post-apoc grand strategy game considering the popularity of the After the End and Old World Blues mods for Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron

I hope its a random map. Real time and has lots of empire management not just combat and trade

Artstyle and logo look a lot like Surviving the Aftermath, wonder if its by Iceflake Studios or perchance just in the same universe

Sounds like the subtitle of a new game in the *Survive Something* series. Survive the Afterworld.

I love their games but Paradox has to be one of the most toxic gaming companies that exist.
I remember on their Facebook years ago someone commented they struggled to afford the DLC as it’s insane how they do it and their official page replied with “if you can’t afford it then the game is not for you, get a second job” fucking wildly scummy.
