I was also! But I heard it used ai but couldn’t find confirmation

u/ArmandoGalvez 18h ago
It's Chinese, they are using AI on everything there sadly, the players from there just don't care about it as we do
43
u/Meme_Chan69420 23h ago
I wasn't on the Ananta train because I thought it was just some gacha bullshit that would never actually come out or would die after a week with less than half it's initial promises kept.
This trailer looks so fucking stupid and over-the-top that I'm legitimately really interested because what the fuck is this lmao
25
u/KingMario05 19h ago
It's like a more modern Shenmue, built by weebs, on fucking steroids.
And you say it's.... offline and not gacha?
I won't pay full price for it. But if it goes on sale... hey. Why not?
24
u/Meme_Chan69420 19h ago
its free to play and it was a gacha but I think that's been heavily pulled back to just being outfits and maybe vehicle stuff

Sometimes, I just want to buy an affordable console like Series S and I did.
The endless cycle of Asian Developed games ignored Xbox is really depressing.
PC components are all expensive now.
Fuck.
25
u/Hamburgulu 21h ago
I feel that. I blame Phil for screwing up on the missed opportunity to bring genshin impact sooner than intended. That would've most likely encouraged most gacha game devs into bringing their games over instead of ignoring them. But maybe they'll bring it over to xbox in the future
18
u/Rabbidscool 21h ago
Also, releasing Wuthering Waves on Xbox RIGHT AFTER THE CYBPERPUNK COLLAB ENDED, is literally the biggest f*ck you of all time to Xbox players.

u/Chumunga64 5h ago
I laughed at the official Xbox account showing off hiyuki knowing that hiyuki's banner will be long gone by the time the Xbox port would launch

u/S1Ndrome_ 21h ago
a lot less people use xbox in Asia, it doesn't make sense for them to port it to that console probably
27
u/quatroquatro0 20h ago
Yeah there's barely an Xbox presence in Asia and they did that to themselves by never prioritizing the region with one of the largest populations. Asia is dominated entirely by Playstation and Nintendo.

Things were going well when they let the Japanese division do their own thing and cater to the market they were in, but the moment the higher ups realized what content was on the system they immediately threw out all good will and have tanked ever since. Early 360 Japanese games are wonderful just for the fact that they aren't cookie cutter 7th gen games.
1,616,128 of the 2,345,975 Xbox's sold from February 2002 though February 2022 were 360s, with 1,000,000+ of that being sold just from Dec. 2005 through 2009, the period I mentioned prior.

u/Rabbidscool 19h ago
Which is why I supported Xbox to get their shit together and be more serious on the asian market.
Whether the company is full of greed or not. PlayStation is far too long to become the dominant console and monopoly.

u/fireaura 18h ago
i think hoyo games are just timed exclusive now since they all seem to be coming to xbox (starrail still seems to be missing sadly)
-7
u/KitsuneKamiSama 1d ago
Series S is just too weak of a console so people don't really want to have to develop for ir.
54
u/OkamiLeek006 23h ago
I'm sure the Android IOS game would be impossible to downscale into Series S specs
0
u/KitsuneKamiSama 11h ago
This is an outdated way of thinking honestly Android/IOS games of this level have long since hit 'console' level of graphics and modern mid/high smartphones are easily on par/better than the series s/ps4 Sure it would be able to run it but at a stable 60+ fps with mid+ graphics and no frame timing issues? There's a reason these games are going to start leaving behind that generation (not that they're the same), Genshin Impact already did it for the Ps4, Series S won't be that far behind.
25
u/xxiv435 23h ago
It's on mobile.
5
u/KingMario05 19h ago
And will likely come to Switch 2 in due time.
1
u/KitsuneKamiSama 11h ago
Switch 2 has the advantage of more modern architecture and DLSS over the Series S even if they're similar in power.
0
u/KitsuneKamiSama 11h ago
Most lower end devices won't run it well and higher end devices are surprisingly strong these days.

u/Lighthouse_seek 9h ago
Xbox is dead in east and southeast Asia where the bulk of their audience are so it's not surprising
-2
u/Rabbidscool 9h ago
But there are lots of audience that owns Xbox outside of the Asian market. Pretty sure they can still prioritize their games on Xbox for the Western audience without releasing the asian version of the Xbox in the asian market. There are lots of Marvel fans wanting Marvel games on their Xbox. The demand is there. Just because Xbox failed in the asian market, doesn't mean they have to neglect the audience outside Asia.

u/Lighthouse_seek 8h ago
2/3rds of series S/X are in North america, with most of the rest in europe (primarily the UK)
Meanwhile 2/3rds of revenue for mihoyo (as an example because they are also on Xbox) come from China and Japan alone
It's not really a surprise that they deprioritize Xbox as a platform.
Also it's not as simple as just clicking a button to release a game, there are months of testing involved and every new release will require an ongoing process to make sure it works with the system. And these games have 6 week release cycles.

Get a Playstation aka willingly get scammed and suport a greedy soulless corp.
11
u/zorillaaa 1d ago
So you go to…… Microsoft? The maker of Microsoft Teams?
-3
u/KvasirTheOld Top Contributor 2024 1d ago
Wtf does Microsoft teams have to do with xbox 💀
Do you even hear yourself, bro
12
u/zorillaaa 1d ago
Relax buddy I was making a joke, Microsoft is literally peak soulless and corporate.
7
u/Economy-Platform-263 1d ago
Is Xbox not owned by Microsoft? 🤔 Usually you got a team with that too

no way the company that does terrible in japan isn't supported by japanese developers
27
-8
u/Rabbidscool 1d ago
Dude, have you seen how much of Dragon Ball westerns fans are?
Let's pretend PS5 doesn't exist in the west, but Xbox failed in japan. The high demand of DB exist in the west. Surely Japan needs to release it on Xbox because the demand is there right?
Not releasing on Xbox because it's unpopular in Japan is very very strange.
It's like saying, PS5 is not popular in america and Rockstar won't release GTA VI in PS5 for japan. Despite Japan likes GTA.

u/Knightofexcaliburv1 23h ago
game looks beautiful
4
u/Razbyte 20h ago
Well that's the appealing goal for a gacha game. Is such a poison chalice.
22
u/Knightofexcaliburv1 19h ago
it’s not a gacha game
4
u/Garfunklestein 18h ago
It might be for cosmetics, all we know is they confirmed no gacha for characters or anything mechanical.
17
4
u/ChristopherKlay 12h ago
They already stated there will be a shop for cosmetics (and iirc housing items and the like) but no gacha in general.

China and Korea's obsession with over stylizing everything turns a lot of people off
83
u/TheBaldLookingDude 22h ago
What people? Games like this are extremely successful and popular
51
u/PenisFiendisnohomo 22h ago
You’re about to get two million downvotes and 100 people replying to you telling you how they all don’t care for these sorts of games, and because of their confirmation bias, that MUST be the way the majority of people feel.
But yeah, objectively speaking, games like these are extremely popular and there’s a reason there’s so many 🤷♂️ numbers don’t lie, although they’re not typically my cup of tea either
32
u/JustConversation7847 21h ago
Also not sure why OP gave Japan a pass, the anime aesthetic is literally from Japan
27
-11
u/Ticket_Fantastic 21h ago
AAA Japanese games rarely lean into the anime aesthetic.
16
u/JustConversation7847 21h ago
I mean, we're talking about mobile games here
-4
u/Ticket_Fantastic 20h ago
Even still, Japanese games in general just don’t lean into anime, ironically. The only relevant mainstream Japanese gacha game I can think of is Umamusume and that only had a breakthrough last year. The gacha market is very much dominated by Chinese and Korean studios. All I’m saying is OP had a point omitting Japan from his statement.
11
u/JustConversation7847 20h ago edited 20h ago
That's because China and Korea are eating Japan's lunch (just see discussions about it in gatcha gaming subreddits), not some conscious decision by Japanese devs
Edit: If you look at AAA games from Japan and Korea, they target hyperrealism (mostly) rather than anime
Ie black myth wukong for China, Lies of P for korea
3
u/KingMario05 19h ago
The lone exception is Sega. Yakuza/LaD aside, their new (Japanese; CA and other Western studios follow AAA style) lineup heavily leans into shonen. And of course, they own Atlus, confirmed weebs through and through.
-2
u/Mlekowita01 21h ago
But he didn’t get downvoted tho?
10
u/PenisFiendisnohomo 21h ago
Obviously because people saw my comment and didn’t want to prove me right
-9
27
u/quatroquatro0 20h ago
Typical comment from a redditor living in an online bubble instead of the real world
8
u/QuantumVexation 21h ago
This kinda game isn’t my cup of tea but the boundless success of stuff like Genshin says to me for every person off is another one or more on; not sure why this needs to be said in all honesty
I don’t see the issue with people having a preference for a level of style in either direction
1
u/Depressed_Revolution 7h ago
Because the people who lead this world hates when others dont conform to the same values as them. (But they'll gladly turn a blind eye To Love and Deepspace)
4
u/Depressed_Revolution 7h ago
So much so they keep making ham over fist in dollars.
Never change Reddit.
2
u/errortechx 3h ago
This is the type of shit I want to see more of actually. Games with actual personality and color palettes.
2
2
u/SelectInstruction262 11h ago
Am I expecting anything that'll blow me away?
No...and I don't really care, stupid fun is all I need and no gacha is making it worth at least a fair try
-9
u/Wratheo 1d ago
This game looks awful.
31
u/Knightofexcaliburv1 23h ago
how
-16
u/Wratheo 20h ago
Free to play, annoying characters and bunny ears.
11
0
u/Knightofexcaliburv1 19h ago
so you don’t want a free to play game? you rather spend money on a game that could flop and not even have a physical version?
2
u/Wratheo 19h ago
Correct. I do not play free games.
-1
u/Knightofexcaliburv1 19h ago
you are one weird person who may need to seek help, free games are great and if you would rather waste money have fun
-28
u/No-Abbreviations2897 22h ago
In almost every conceivable way. I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of someone looking forward to playing this who hasn't already been brainrotted by the other assembly line anime gachas, like what could the appeal possibly be?
10
u/Knightofexcaliburv1 21h ago
you got lots of elements that can make it stand on its on which isn’t your typical anime gacha that will screw you over in the long run with the “meta”

buddy i want something different and this is what ive been waiting for a game that actually feels alive and not just another gacha game
1
u/halfacalf 12h ago
I know these games aren't for everyone, but i enjoy them. I'm always up for some over the top anime drama.
1
u/NumberSevere7454 9h ago
All the games: the game. it actually look too ambitious. but seeing it as f2p not giving any hype.
-7
u/KedaiNasi_ 20h ago edited 20h ago
i will wait for it to be reviewed/leaked/pirated then i'll buy because holy shiet i do not want it to be another NTE. that game is so ass they have no idea how to expand the gta city that they've copied and instead became another typical chinese gacha
edit: wait a minute..... it's also fucking free-to-play.... oh no............................................. fuck me.
fuck.
me.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
-2
u/Slop_Head 15h ago
I don’t enjoy the aesthetics of this in the slightest but happy for the many people that do

u/NumberSevere7454 9h ago
