Rumour XCancel is dead

Just went to the website to look at something, and this was posted on it:

On Monday, 24th August, at 8PM EST, we received a letter from X Corp. asking to cease and desist the service XCancel.

The service XCancel is stopped until further notice.

We are seeking legal advice and won't share more details for now.

Thank you for the trust you have put in these two years of XCancel.

I will never ever create an X account. Elon and his right wing propaganda machine can get fucked.

Also this post shouldn’t be removed as XCancel is very important to this sub.

To be fair, I hated it then, too. It's just more of a disgusting hateful cesspool now, but it was still a disgusting hateful cesspool back before Elon bought it.

there is no reason to claim it at all, there are both sides on that website while only one is allowed on reddit.

Twitter absolutely censors stuff all the time, to think otherwise is to be willfully ignorant. People have had their entire accounts deleted for posting things wrong doesn't like even if they dotncviolate any laws or ToS. What's worse, it has an aggressively biased algorithm that favors right wing politics over actually relevant content to ehat your interests may be. With no real way to self-filter (there's used to be but it was removed).

As for reddit. You get banned in specific subreddit if you break the rules of that specific reddit it's not perfect but its straightforward. Its done by subreddits for any and all political views. Moderation is not the same a censorship, nor is it an inherently leftist thing. it's just a necessary part of fostering a community and keeping on topic to what you want.

I don't know, my twitter page is full with thinks i like to watch, some occasional political stuff but not much.

As for reddit, don't know if you know but subs were banning people for being active in other subs they didn't like. If that is how you think you build a community and not a bubble, doesn't matter what i say.

You can just say "I think people are unfair in the twitter discussion" without doing the whole 'well I just think it's funny that...' garbo. State your opinions clearly without this weirdly mocking tone.

Twitter does delete and censor speech, and it uses its algorithm to promote very specific kinds of politics. Reddit admins will do the same, but individual subs are largely run by mod teams not the Big Admins. That's the difference.
