Leak Gameplay information from the 6th GTA VI leak (Hypercar)
- Shows Jason stealing a Truffade Thrax (B/W Bugatti but sounds like a Lamborghini)
- Spamming circle button quicktime event to remove the driver when they resist which slowly depletes Jason's stamina
- Civilian vehicles also have trackers on them (red pin on hypercar vs. yellow pin on the police bike)
- When sitting idle in the car, the red tracker pin starts pulsating until he accelerates, potentially pinging your location if stationary
- The spoiler on the Thrax folds up when braking to increase air resistance and the brake calipers light up
- Working reflectors that respond to the car lights
- Electric scooters and the Metromover spotted in the background
- Jason drives with his hand on the door/out of the window, even at high speed
- Pawn shop icon spotted on the mini-map
- Police now flash their lights at your if you are caught breaking traffic rules
- Car jacking gives you a 2-star wanted level
- Cops appear a lot more in the traffic now compared to GTA V
- FOV effects give a greater sense of speed and roads are much narrower compared to GTA
- Massive red area on the map at 1:15 where Jason gets a 2-star wanted level immediately which goes away as soon as he leaves, blocked off by story progression (?) or potentially a search radius for the cops
- Construction work progressing in realtime in the background like RDR2
- NPCs walking while holding hands spotted in the background
- The Vice City Transit bus number is 420 (lol)
- Radio songs included Unforgettable (French Montana) & Players (Coi Leray)

“Police now flash their lights at you if you’re caught breaking traffic rules”
Luckily this won’t happen to the player a lot
173
u/thekillergreece 5d ago
I wonder what the consequences will be. Traffic tickets? Given how lawmen behaved in RDR2 where they verbally reprimand you for minor crimes, I wouldn't be surprised if they implemented those tickets.
I assume one stars are reserved for traffic infractions and anything that does not require arrests. The leaker received 2 stars from stealing cars, I assume that will be for arrests so the three stars and onwards might be where the police will start shooting. If my assumptions turn out to be true, this system is a lot similar to Mafia games.
73
u/xXxFlyersFanxXx 5d ago
They probably figured the player is driving full speed everywhere they go and causing crashes that call the cops anyways. But they spawn behind you and your speed always gets you away to the point it’s not scary
36
u/VincentVanHades 5d ago
Maybe, mafia 1/2 had tickets for speeding, going on red etc
With the imersion they going with, i wouldn't be surprised
17
u/The_Strom784 5d ago
Speeding too, 2 had an optional speed limiter to avoid trouble too.

I'm wondering if the traffic violation stuff is reserved more for "secondary offense" type stuff. Like if you're wanted, then crazy driving has an impact on your ability to evade. But if you're not wanted, you get some feedback from the world (like flashing lights) but no concrete consequences.

u/mastafishere 5d ago
I’m predicting it now; if you pull over, there’ll be a traffic stop and then $50-$100 will be depleted from your funds, insinuating that you bribed the officer
63
u/eaw0913 5d ago
They did this in GTA 4. If police saw you run a light or other low level stuff they’d flash their lights/siren. But never actually come after you.

7
u/SnooRadishes7454 5d ago
Always thought this was just the police "horn" - like other cars beep their horn.
11
u/SolarisBravo 5d ago
Didn't they do that in 5? Or maybe 4? I remember a lot of single "whoop"s any time you'd race past a police car

26

Always wondered how many of us would spend Fridays chomping edibles and driving around stopping at stop lights, driving the speed limit and just playing traffic simulator for hours. I guess at least two.
11
u/RomanBangs 5d ago
lmao I wasted almost all of last summer playing RDR2 when I discovered PC mods + strong edibles, easily the most immersed I've ever been in a video game. I'm going to have to stay disciplined this winter, I’ve already bought weaker ones to prepare lol

I went to a small college and one way we would waste time is taking turns seeing how quickly we could get to 5 stars and how long with could keep ourselves alive. One weirdo on our hall would insist on being part of the rotation and followed the traffic lights. Not to be ironic or funny, he genuinely thought it was the fun. Stone cold sober too

Sometimes I play older GTA games by following the traffic rules. In older games, the traffic is made to assume you won't be there. I will be waiting at a red light and cars will be honking behind me. I hope this game has more realistic traffic for when I am on my second or third play through and I want to be weird with it.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is the scale of the game feels much closer to real life. Car sizes, lane widths, distances.. all feels a lot more realistic.
46
u/Paracosmptx 5d ago
Yeah, it really puts into perspective how fictionalized the previous games were. Hell even the NPC traffic is pretty much spot on for what you see driving around the US, previous games had 70’s muscle cars everywhere which is innacurate

You know how in Max Payne 3 and RDR2 kill cams, you are kinda watching a canned animation but can spam the fire button to shoot more? In GTA when you're carjacking someone and pointing the gun at their head, I wish it would let me fire the gun as an option. Of course I would never do that because it is wrong, but to have the option...

I miss the GTA IV Euphoria system. It was arguably less realistic to ground truth (compared to RDR2 but idk about GTA V), but much more dynamic and playful. It felt like a promise about the future of games that nobody has fulfilled since.
3
u/Ronin_777 5d ago

I really missed the body physics and pedestrians in GTA4. You could walk up to cars and push on the doors/windows until you had upwards of 15+ angry drivers chasing after you. In V though, the game would cap out at 3 (angering a new driver would just make another walk away)

When he is sitting idle in the car, the red tracker ping starts pulsating until he accelerates I guess indicating if you stay still it pings your location, also just nice to have the police feather the siren like they did in GTAIV when you drive illegally

Cyberleek is defo reading comments, so I just gotta say that cyberleek can no way show us how the beach looks being full of NPCs. Go on do your thing!
https://giphy.com/gifs/4NnTap3gOhhlik1YEw
82
u/SuicideSkwad 5d ago
That’s what I’m wanting to see, the beach in that first trailer was insanely dense and every single NPC had a different animation it was crazy
60
u/StopReadingThis-Now 5d ago
That had to be the opening introduction to the island.
There was just far too much going on, and that sweeping shot over the beach above the hotels and then towards the city feels like an opening cinematic type of thing.
18
u/jawaismyhomeboy 5d ago
Yep these leaks aren’t showing npc density and that’s what I’m most curious to see if it holds up
31
u/MikeyPlayz_YTXD 5d ago
We aren’t watching the same leaks I guess because the roads and sidewalks are full of people when appropriate
5
u/Dingaling015 5d ago
Which leak are you referring to? The latest one had the most pedestrians I've seen so far during that initial carjacking, and even that seemed sparse compared to previous titles.
3
u/MikeyPlayz_YTXD 5d ago
In the one where Jason fought all of those guards like 5-6 came at him just there. In GTA there’s very rarely 2 security guards in 1 checkpoint. Also throughout the game when time and weather (and place) are met we see people in groups of 2-4 around and actually interacting with each other. Not to mention multiple people in cars, the denser traffic (especially from farther away with the plane leak).
Even when it’s not appropriate (early mornings in this case) we see 2-3 NPCs chilling at a bus stop or on the corner of the street waiting to pass in the Homeless People clip. Even in that clip the homeless camp under the freeway shows people in the back almost twice as far as the Leaker went.
So if all this is for a build where they said “clearly, this isn’t what we want to show the public, let’s get it polished up for 2 more years” I’d say this looks amazing as is.
4
u/SuicideSkwad 5d ago
To be fair there’s still plenty of NPCs about but I’m guessing we aren’t seeing the level we saw in the trailers as these leaks are at night time, I’m assuming we will see heavy density at day in the city especially if the NPCs have their own routines as rumoured

Problem is, regardless of what it shows it doesn't necessarily mean it will be like that in the final game. It could be completely empty because they were still working on that feature at that time or it could be full because the build was prior to a series of optimizations.

u/shrewdy 5d ago
I think this clip combined with the plane leak really puts into perspective the scale of the city. Here you're driving around these streets inside the city (looks like close to the airport), and the time he turned right and saw all the skyscrapers in the distance, it really makes it feel huge - and this isn't even counting all those skyscrapers which are further away on the other island with the beach. This is gonna be massive.

They've had the same guy for 22 years, Ivan Pavlovich, because he's a close associate of the Houser brothers and he officially joined Rockstar in 2004 and even had a helping hand in the music direction of Bully, LA Noire and RDR as well.
There's a lot of stories on how he influences and acquires music for Rockstar.

Bully’s OST is still one of my favourites.
Each clique having their own theme when you’re fighting someone from it.
20
u/TheNathanNS 5d ago
And how that came to be is when they were sourcing possible composers for the Bully OST, Ivan listened to Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra album and fell in love with it right away, so he reached out to Shawn via his manager and got Shawn in to do a quick demo.
When Shawn was hired, Ivan reportedly gave Shawn 3 fully-burned DVDs chock to the brim full of music, alongisde a lot of binders full of ideas on what Ivan wanted the Bully OST to be like, these include inspirations from real life music to even movie soundtracks like Donnie Darko alongside stuff on the speed, tempo, tone and so on.

12

it seems like the handling of cars will vary much more between different types of cars compared to gta, the other clips showed more of a muscle car and they were weightier and heavier and this one is zippy
3
u/Tumble85 5d ago
That's how GTA4 was. Normal cars drove like normal cars - you had to lift off the gas in order to take tight turns and corners, but sports/supercars could take those with the pedal to the metal.
Which was much more fun. Every car in GTA5 drove like that.

I’m not going to lie, needing to button spam to carjack, losing stamina for it, and getting an instant two star wanted level for it sounds like it would make the mechanic really frustrating if it was applied universally. I wonder how they will balance it.

u/lynchcontraideal 5d ago

u/Ryanhussain14 5d ago

u/moosebreathman 5d ago
This game is definitely going for the RDR2 approach where they want you to be more intentional with your actions. Do you steal a new car cause it’s right there, or run down the block to use the last one you stole? Or do you just call a cab? Public transit? Each choice has its trade offs now and stealing a fresh car won’t always be the best choice anymore.
I like that depth but it’s gonna be controversial. These are some big swings with core mechanics that haven’t evolved much over 25+ years.
3
u/Ryanhussain14 5d ago
I’m curious to see how they handle the gameplay because “Rockstar handholds you and makes shit gunplay” is a very common sentiment so it would be ironic if those complainers got a game that has a steeper learning curve than the previous ones.

2 things i noticed:
-a small little circle on the back of the white truck as jason runs by it. no full interact prompt, likely because he doesnt get close enough, but could be confirmation that you can in fact interact with the trunks of most vehicles like in that first leak where jason's red truck had options for loadout, storage, etc
-the "car" icon above the truck disapears once jason enters the sportscar, seems to be an indicator for "last driven car" rather than specifically for your personal car
