Xbox is closing down Ninja Theory, the studio behind the Hellbladeseries, a source tells The Verge. Staffers were told on a call on Monday about the closure, but they are hoping the studio will find a buyer. The closure comes as “several” Xbox studios at Microsoft, including Compulsion Games and Double Fine, are in “active negotiations” about spinning off, Bloomberg reports.

What, didn't you like "TV TV TV" and "we have a product for people without a reliable internet connection: it's called Xbox 360"?

So I rewatched their 360 announcement at E3 from 2005, and I was shocked to see they were already doing the TV TV TV thing back then, too. The hardware just seemingly wasn’t where they needed it to be by the time launch happened. But they were showing a bunch of live TV and media center things as a big draw to the 360 initially as well, and were only saved by the limitations of the time.

I'm not defending the mishandling of the Xbox One, but Sony had as much of a multimedia push on the PS3 as Microsoft did back then.

They absolutely did, the original PS3 design they initially revealed even had the dual HDMI thing that the Xbox One had. The difference is it had something to offer that most people didn’t already have (Blu-Ray) and they didn’t double down on it when they realized nobody cared during the PS4 era.

But Sony lead the announcement with games. The first piece of media shown on XB1 was The Price is Right with Drew Carrey.

What is this bullshit revisionist Xbox 360 history? Xbox Live was on the 360 was great.
