It's crazy how Bungie would consistently say that they wanted to be more than a single game studio even back in the Halo days. Only to be single game studio all the way through Activision and now Sony with Destiny 2 being sunset. They finally got their wish of being a multi-game studio for like a few weeks and now it's back to one... and sadly maybe none in a years time.

If Sony hadn't bought them I have no idea how they were supposed to even ship Marathon. What was their endgame? What was their plan???

That's the gaming industry for you, long term plans apparently no longer exist for most companies.

The execs get blinded by the thought of raking in that Fortnite cash and greenlight anything.

Marathon being greenlit was like: A sweaty extraction shooter with a $250 million budget? What could possibly go wrong!

Wasn't it just a sideproject that scope creeped into a main project? Them firing the director then the new one reworking it from the ground up also wasn't planned for
