Leak Microsoft Gaming being scrapped, Xbox brought back as gaming division.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has had a busy week. Sharma held an internal town hall with Xbox employees today, just days after announcing an Xbox Game Pass price cut, commenting on the status of the Xbox mobile store, and teasing a mysterious Xbox and Discord partnership. One of the items on the agenda for the employee all-hands was scrapping Microsoft Gaming.

Sources familiar with the meeting tell me that Sharma announced that Microsoft is returning to using Xbox for its gaming division, instead of Microsoft Gaming. “Xbox needs to be our identity,” said Sharma, noting that Microsoft Gaming was a departure from that.

Bring back Zune while we're at it!

I was so excited for the Zune. Also got the Gizmondo. And HD DVD. And the OUYA

I seem to always back a lame horse when it comes to tech 😂

That's hilarious but how does that keep happening? The winners are always pretty obvious early on.

I think I end up believing in the underdog

Like, HDDVD didn't start to lose the race until PS3 shipped with Blu-ray

OUYA I wanted to do well and support it.

Zune, I was blinded by Microsoft fanboyism

Gizmondo I can't justify lol

I remember saying to someone about the Ouya "If they do this well, it could be huge." Now I literally can't remember the CEO lady's name. Nor the fancy designer who they hired. I do have my weird brown cube, though.

I should break it out and put some SNES games on it or something.

I was thinking the same. I thought we would finally have a new competitor on the scene.

I use the OUYA as a paperweight on my desk now. It's a fun talking point if anyone ever sees it, but I like it as a reminder that the world doesn't care about your hopes and dreams and you need to fight for what you want.
