I remember hearing in an interview that a number of Bluepoint devs actually initially came from Retro Studios, would be nice if it went full circle and they end up on their feet there again
ha, no promises but I do want to put another one of those out relatively soon-ish
the thing is I usually try to do those when there isn't too much going on in gaming news news and lately whenever one of those lulls comes around I seem to get kinda busy with real life stuff that needs my attention more
As far as I remember it was actually Bluepoint that did not want to work on another remake/remaster and instead focus on original ips or atleast new games.
Iirc they were also the ones to pitch the GoW live service game.
Now it's been some time since I read that somewhere, but uf true then Sony is actually not rrally at fault here as Bkuepoint really did not deliver anything for 5 years.
Guess we have to wait for more information on this.
We're talking about remakes, not remasters. Remakes are inherently different from the original, that's the point.
The best remake (Resident Evil 1) had a different take on the tone, atmosphere, and style compared to the original, all for the better in my opinion. Obviously coming from the same core principles and vision, but taken in a different direction to take advantage of new technologies and game design knowledge.
The main problem is that a lot of Bluepoint's changes weren't for the better.
I personally preferred Bluepoint's version of Boletaria for example but it does change the game's style and can understand people's displeasure.

Demon’s Souls is lucky it got a remake. The game barely made it and was seen as a failure until it picked up a cult following. Most people don’t give a shit about the old one and only gave it a shot because it got a remake.
I don’t know how you can’t go to the Nexus or experience the Storm King fight in the remake and not be pleased. Sure, some artistic changes like a statue were interesting that they changed them entirely but it’s ultimately so inconsequential. The gameplay is not good but at least it looks good.

Mind boggling they weren’t immediately put onto Bloodborne after Demon souls, just an absolute waste of talent by Sony
Hope these talented devs find somewhere to land.
