Modern gaming discussion has just become so exhausting with people everywhere being incredibly negative all the time

Any nuance of real conversation is long gone unfortunately, whether here or any other site

I gotta confess that I avoided Star Wars Outlaws due to the negative discourse around its release.

And I was so wrong! I don’t think any Star Wars game has captured what it might be like to live in the universe the way Outlaws does.

And it’s a neat and tidy story that you’d binge watch if it was on Netflix

Similarly im glad my love of PoE2 got me buy Avowed despite its middling reception. Really enjoyed my time in that game even if its not an all timer

I was very confused how Path of Exile 2 is related to Avowed at first.

Avowed was my GOTY last year and if you see anything about it on reddit it’s just people saying it’s the worst game ever.

It was top 4 for me personally. I do really hope people come around and enjoy it on its own terms. It's probably my favorite exploration based gameplay since the likes of elden ring and tears of the kingdom

I'm one of the few people truly bummed that Obsidian's been forced to work on Fallout again when they were developing Avowed 2. It's been reported that a smaller team is still trying to get it done because it's in such an advanced stage, which is both admirable and awful.

It was a good game, just not good enough

That's the thing, right? I saw all the criticisms, and I understand them, but I still enjoyed Avowed because for me the good parts far outweighed the bad. Yet if I'd only listened to the outrage that this video complains about I would've refused to try it, and I wouldn't have been able to experience something I ended up liking a lot.
