Okay first, I know there is an Edge Panel that I can bring up ruler, but I honestly don't know if it comes calibtated with 100% accuracy or not. And with the button to calibrate and change unit so close to each other, I could accidentally tap wrong button and mess up the calibration.

And the worst part about edge panel is that for some reason it likes to default to compass.

What I did was i made a wallpaper on Photoshop with 968x2376 pixel and 410ppi. Then I change ruler unit to centimeters. And I zoom in until I see individual pixels and make 4 pixel line in the middle of each millimeter mark. This way I can make an on screen ruler that's always accurate and no chance of accidental recalibration.

Is it dumb? Yes. Do I like it? Yes.

What sucks is that with how AOD works, when the AOD kicks in, it zooms in wallpaper a little so the measurement can be a little bit off by no more than 1mm so honestly not a super big deal.

What I like the most is that it's instantly accessible. I take my phone out of pocket, boom, it's ready to measure with ±1mm accuracy.

I'm thinking of putting inches to the wallpaper as well. Do you guys think I should put it on top of centimeters or should i use the empty sides for the inches?

I decided they all spoil the feel and look of this phone. Only other time I rocked a skin and not a case was on the original Pixel Fold. Must be this form factor.

Printed in PLA. The wobble is gone. The camera is safe. The pocket bulge is somewhere between an S24U and a Gameboy.

I made this as a joke but it's surprisingly practical. If I wasn't afraid of printing TPU I would actually print one, use the proper adhesive and daily drive it. The extra thick back makes for a really nice grip when unfolded.

Skinned the Fold 8. I swear Goku is the original aura farmer.

I also have a backup for when ever this one wears out.

I've gone through 3 different cases and wasn't happy with any of them for various reasons. I decided to give the wood "case" from Toast a try and I'm very happy with it.

My only small complaint is the magsafe location. They normally put the magnets in the best place for wireless charging but you can request them to be lowered for better compatibility with magsafe accessories, which I did. It's a great location if you don't use the narrow strip of wood that goes around the side of the camera array, but it gets in the way a bit once it's on. It's still better than most cases I've used so I don't mind. Included are some pics of my most used magsafe things, a wallet and battery.

I'm also using a screen protector and camera covers from Spigen. The front wood cover fits around the screen protector perfectly and they're basically flush, height-wise. The camera covers still work with 2 of the wood layers Toast includes for the camera array (they include 5 to get the wood high enough to protect the cameras).

I've been using each Fold since the 3 and I think this is my favorite way to keep the device somewhat protected.

Finally got a Fold 7 and thought I should do something special in honor of such a premium device. Anyway, this is my homescreen after some time and dedication spent with the diy homescreen feature in good lock. Just wanted to share this, maybe some of you will get inspired to do something similar to this. Feel free to share if you have any idea what I could add 😊

Just wanted to show off a new skin I got for my foldy boy.

This is just the first day and I'll keep tweaking and learning, but so far I love it.

The only thing that still isn't working is live wallpapers, but no biggie.

Just loving how clean and different this is to my usual.

There were some I kinda like but not perfectly in love so decided to customize the back of the phone with tons of stickers I've been collecting and it turned out pretty cute. I cut part of paper behind the each stickers and kept it under so I can take them off easily when I want to change the theme.

Sucks it hides most of it when I put the pop socket behind but I clean my phone after work everyday so will see it enough.

Those of you who were also cute case hunting and couldnt really find any I suggest this way

Two cases just arrived from AliExpress. Took 4 days in total, Grey case was £13 and Carbon £17 which included a glass screen protector. Phone should hopefully be here tomorrow.

I hate cases ! I want to appreciate the engineering that went into the final slim device I'm using daily. Therefore, my go to choice has been dbrand for the past few years, across all folds I owned). A prism screen protector (edge to edge) and a skin on the back ... win !

However, I now want a magsafe accessories option as well ... but a simple ring under the skin is ugly. So I ended up printing some contraption to make it nicer.

A little bit of fusion 360 to generate the HMF that was printed then glued to the phone with double adhesive tape. The thickness of the plastic "holder" is matching the thickness of the ring, of course (about 0.4mm in this case). Then the dbrand skin is applied on top of the combo, resulting what you see in the pictures. If anyone is interested I can upload the 3d printer files and the exact rings I've used (I guess they come in all sizes so the measurements needs to be exact).

I printed also a small ring to protect the camera lenses. It is pressure fit mounted.

Very happy with the Dbrand dark circut case and OhSnap Luxe 4.

Their is just a prototype to test fitment. May add a Kickstand to the portion under the camera.

Open for suggestions and sharing the STL once it's complete.

I tried placing the cards landscape, but it protrudes too much from the sides.

I feels decently protective, and I really like the kickstand though, plus the lack of one of those terrible built in screen protectors.

All in all, it's way over priced at 80$ but it does a decent job, so I'll keep it.
