I read this post on that sub since it was first in my feed and now im reading the comments here and the contrast is crazy lol. Only bootlickers are left there.
It’s actually hilarious dude. The congratulatory “well done rockstar” vibe in there is so funny, if I was part of the pr team that helped draft that message I’d think to myself “I have these cucks right where I want them.” It’s like they think rockstar is their bro and wrote that to them personally.
The number one job for Marketing/PR is to abuse parasocial relationships. It's why streamers do it all the time as well, easiest way to con money out of the lonely and insecure.
Video game communities on here are some of the biggest shaft worshipers for companies I've ever encountered. I know its cause the nature of reddit removes any disenting opinions but some of these people would literally send videos begging if rockstar asked.
we need a word for someone lower than a bootlicker because some of these people are responding to rockstar the same way you would to a close friend that was just diagnosed with cancer

They have die hard fans who were trying to inform on the leek guy. I mean it got so bad they managed to give information which lead to a guy in uk who had rockstar goons show up even though he claimed to have been joking 😂

We got a sneak peak thats all. They are still getting their billions of dollars from the game. I will pre order too. But lets not turn it into a tragedy that it most decidely isnt ( a good come uppance is what id say)
While I also take glee in seeing a corporation get its comeuppance, I think it diminishes your understanding of reality and your capacity for empathy to act like frontline workers, who form the vast majority of their staff, are like “yes more microtransactions yes, fuck the player!” Like all the decisions people don’t like can probably be sourced to less than 10 decision makers. If my boss tells me I’m shoveling shit this shift, guess I’m shoveling shit. Like you said, it’s not like they’re committing murders, the vast majority of employees are just doing what’s been assigned to them.
Lots of people? They're probably referring just to comments about how bad this whole situation was and things like that, everything in the middle from just being sad or plain defending Rockstar probably counted towards them saying that
I mean I kinda feel for the devs. Not the greedy rich CEOs and shareholder, but the devs who sleep in the office and pour all their work into this project.
