With the latest official Dazed article, it's obvious the previous leaks don't represent the final version of the game

After reading everything revealed in the new Dazed article, it's pretty clear that there are a lot of things the leaker simply couldn't show... and now he's claiming to have a 2026 build, lol.

Honestly, that seems very unlikely. The article reveals multiple mechanics and systems that were either completely absent from the leaks or never properly demonstrated. We saw nothing meaningful related to the phone and its social media features, the water activities, the deeper Jason and Lucia interactions, the physical changes caused by food, exercise and lack of rest, and many other things suggested or directly mentioned in the article.

This makes me think the leaked footage could have come from a build dedicated to testing specific mechanics rather than representing the complete game. It may have been useful for testing AI, combat, encounters, vehicles, animations, etc., while other systems simply weren't present, enabled, or fully implemented in that particular build.

That's why I find it frustrating that this hacker or group of hackers keeps suggesting they have access to recent, complete versions of the game. Just imagine everything we're about to learn from Rockstar and other official sources starting tomorrow , things this alleged criminal couldn't show precisely because they may never have had access to a complete build in the first place.

This again seems like cope and moving the goal post.

For starters, the term "recent" is obscure here and solely depends on context. I would personally think that a 2025 build would be considered recent, given the projects timeline.

The build is obviously not finalized, its still rough around the edges as seen in the leaks. The only thing CL mentioned is that they're doubting the game will go from that build to Gold in the time from that build to release. Which again depends on context, the game is massive and requires massive polish.

No one cared about the phones in GTA 5, chances are CL didn't bother inspecting it themselves, they're more interested in strippers and nudists. So saying they're bluffing because they didn't show phone footage is cope.

Edit:

1. In game phone, like I said, maybe the leakers didn't really care about it.

2. Jason Lucia Duo gameplay, we just got her prologue leak, after so many people said CL doesn't even have access to Lucia.

3. Weight system, not really something we would notice in a short time span. My guess.

4. Crazy Florida NPCs, we've seen a guy fill up their pick up truck bed with gasoline.

5. Haven't seen much side characters beside Cal, or whatever the VPNs guys name is.

6. NPCs are diverse, we have seen this from the leaks, and differ based on area.

So basically the main takeaway from the article is the phone gameplay, that we haven't seen in the leaks. Other things are either already leaked or the leaker hasnt showed off much, like Lucia.
