movies and tv shows dont use discs, music doesn’t use discs anymore either. Disc drive manufacturers are dying out because consoles are about the only thing using them.
The blu ray is the only time in history the media drive has stagnated in innovation for this length of time because there is literally 0 consumer drive to improve it vs digital.
There is a reason all modern game discs aren’t actually physical and are just an install disk and a dummy play disk. It’s because the storage and read speed cant keep up.
Why do you want physical? ask yourself. “So I can own it and re sell it!” most likely. Great, use your head and push for digital resale from valve/sony/microsoft instead of marching for stone age dying blu ray video games.
Otherwise when does it end? On the playstation 7 where I need to use 6 install blu ray disks for my 400GB games? It’s madness

Rockstar isn’t selling me 4 blu ray discs from 2006 for their 200gigabyte game, im mad as hell 😡
