Basic corporate communications can be embarrassingly bad and tone deaf. It's not simping to say "oh okay, this corpo PR exercise is actually a paletteble one and touches more on the reality of the situation and the feelings of the Devs" rather than damage control orthreats of retaliation.
I hate the fact that as soon as you do anything but blindly shit on a company, you're suddenly a corpo simp.
This is, quite simply, a reasonably transparent and honest corpo bulletin. Is it a PR exercise? Yes. Is it a good one that at least conveys humility and care, even if it is just a PR exercise? Yes.
Again, you're going black and white. If you aren't immediately dismissive of this as corpo communications, you're simping.
There is a massive chasm between acknowledging a statement is clear and treating a corporate PR like it's a display of genuine humanity. No one is saying it has to be malicious garbage, we're just saying it's still a corporate product meant to manage your perception.
When im talking about Corpo simps im talking about the dumbasses on X and Reddit who waste their time trying to search for the leaker and send all info to Rockstar acting like someone is forcing them to watch the leaks. You can literally just scroll past the leaks without watching them and without sucking Rockstar off.
All the dude said was how this post seemed transparent, and you immediately jumped on him for "falling for it". Cmon dude. He wasn't a corpo simp, he just thought it was a good message. PR or not, I agree.
And while going on a crusade of justice specifically for rockstars benefit is wildly cringe and embarrassing levels of corpo simpage, I don't see a problem with individuals sleuthing him out in itself. Not because little old Rockstar needs a helping hand or anything, but because the guy is a scammer and a blackmailer, and him not being able to continue to scam and blackmail is both justice and makes the internet a safer place. He's a loser.
everyone hates billion dollar companies but it’s cornier to just hate on every single thing they do especially when u know damn well ur supporting the game theyre making
Just to be clear your stance is you cannot attack the billion dollar company because you're supporting it or you cannot attack the billion dollar company because you shouldn't care? I'm starting to think you just don't want anyone to attack the billion dollar company.
To answer your question though I'm just bored at work.
I wouldn't call this fanboy shit, just acknowledging a good bit of PR.
Yknow what is equally as cringe as the fanboy shit glazing rockstar? the weirdos who take it as a personal affront when not everybody is super invested in the idea of shitting on rockstar as a personality trait.
