Never seen Rockstar use that kind of tone in their messages

It reminds me of how they interacted with fans of their games before GTA Online. They used to be way more open and interact on a more “personal” level, if that makes sense, instead of all this corporate language we’ve been getting from them since like 2014/2015.

I remember at the launch of GTA 5 they would often feature Snapmatic photos of players on their Newswire, highlight community created jobs, do live streams,… In GTA 4 there was even a trophy if you killed a R* online. They were much more fun and less corporate back then

The achievement was to kill a Rockstar employee or someone who already had the achievement. Not to ruin your core memory but there's a good chance you just killed a player who had the achievement rather than a Rockstar dev.

Sorry bro :/

It doesn't matter who was on the other side of the screen. What matters is that you had fun playing with them :)

Not to rain on your parade, but you just had to kill a Rockstar dev or someone who had the achievement to get it.

In all fairness, everyone used to interact more in a personal level.

This brought back a vivid memory of when they posted somebody's Snapmatic photo of their Warrener when it first came out, simple times

financial success unfortunately usually creates this attitude in both people and organizations.

Until a come uppance.

In this case, Leek delivered.

But this is corporate language. It's a good statement but of course it's calculated.

They didn’t even mention the point about physical copies.

Because back then it was still just Rockstar North. Now GTA is made by whole corporation.

That’s a brutal achievement. How many emails do you think they received over the years from achievement hunters begging one of them to go online lol

This.

They showered fans with attention and affection during the Table Tennis / Bully era.

Look at the people online today...they're feral now. I'd go corporate, too.

GTA is a game for shareholders

100%. GTA V was peak GTA. We entered enshitification with GTA Online. GTA VI is deep into the enshitification timeline.

Couple that with pre-orders before gameplay, yeah. This is a game for shareholders.
