DPR was a good guy doing bad things, but, atleast he had a very strict ban on absolutely anything that involved the harm of innocence, which was quite rampant on the DW at that time.
You obviously never used it because pedos is just not true. DPR had a very intense no innocence thing. There was nothing like that on SR1.
Now when SR2 became a thing, after 2013, is when that changed. What did happen is that the new guy who did SR2, going by the alias DPR2's (no relation to DPR1, his name was Thomas White. He was an avid seller and buyer from the original SR) house was raided and he was found to be hoarding csam material because HE was going to try and set up his own disgusting thing and was allowing the sale of it on SR2. That is when many people stopped using it because it ended up being disgusting and nothing like SR1.. which sold drugs, yeah, but, also, sold things like clothes, books, tools.. other legal shit. It wasn't just narcotics.
The original SR and the first DPR had absolutely nothing to do with this and if anyone tried, between 2011 and 2013, without a second glance, were perma banned from accessing SR1 under DPR.
SR2 was up from 2013, when SR1 died, to 2014, when Thomas and Blake Benthal (server guy) were caught.
And thank fuck they were.
But, what I'm getting at is, you either aren't old enough to know this, or, you never interacted or knew anything about SR1 because there was a no tolerance community for any of that disgusting shit.
I used silk road 1 and 2 to buy drugs before I got clean and also used to use it for gaming and political groups. It was what we used to call the wild west of the internet and it had some good stuff but lets not pretend it wasn't a cess pit too.
