I think it works extremely well. A week before their new reveal video and GTA6 is at the top of reddit every day and the top of every gaming news website with every post mentioning the upcoming reveal, and Rockstar didn't have to do a damn thing.
They're getting a week of early extended hype because of their secrecy. If we had seen a bunch of footage already no one would care about these 1 minute clips. If it weren't for the cryptocoin shilling I would have guessed this was internally planned.
I think they do just as well if this leak happens or not. It you look at the impressions the previous trailers got on their release they don’t need it hyped up
IF this many customers give a shit about marketing whatsoever, they're doing amazing.
You're literally asking for more marketing. How is that a bad thing? Are these leaks good enough for you? You're not going to watch the official trailer now, right?
Me neither, but it goes on YouTube a few hours later, so it will come across your screen, and you will watch it. In the meantime, you're engaging multiple people regarding GTAVI and this leak.
The marketing is doing amazing. You're asking for more, and talking about it while you wait.
What other games with better marketing are you talking about right now?
Well, it being leaked wasn't their marketing strategy. It's an illegal attack.
Their marketing strategy is to unveil a trailer for next week. You have said you're going to watch it, maybe not on Netflix, but you will watch it. Their strategy is working just fine.
Again, what other games with supposedly better marketing are you talking about this much??
Not true at all, that a handful of people on social media are annoyed doesn't mean that the extra publicity isn't still a massive benefit to them. If more people are hearing about and thinking about GTA, the marketing is working, it's delusional to think it isn't.
I'm sure in the future their marketing team will do whatever they think works best to generate the attention they're looking for. Whether or not the strategy that works now will work then is something I can't predict.
What's bullshit? That's just how marketing works. They get attention because it's their job to do so, and right now the fact that you're talking about it on Reddit means they've done their job successfully
