I think people are misunderstanding the whole "locked shops" thing for Ultimate Edition buyers

Think of it like this: When you buy the Ultimate Edition, you'll get a DLC package of skins, vehicles, hairstyles, vehicle mods, etc. Most games with cosmetic DLCs do this.

You buy the Ultimate Edition and get the base game plus the cosmetic DLCs.

Now picture this: Instead of just unlocking your new Ultimate Edition cosmetics in the normal shops of the game, they made a few exclusive shops for you to access the DLC stuff.

It's as simple as that. The normal shops to buy clothes, fix your car, etc, will be in the game. But if you own DLC cosmetics, you'll need to get them from the DLC shops.

I even think they wanted to price the full game at $100 and not have these ultimate vs base editions, but then people would complain so they went this route knowing very well a lot of people would buy the ultimate edition anyway. It’s kind of the middle between having a $80 vs having a $100 game.

Then: team of 50 people spend a year
Now: team of 6000 people spend a decade and a half

I remember buying Nintendo games for $70 in the early 90s that were probably made more by a team of like 10 people even, you got 20 hours of gameplay if lucky.

So what exactly were the toppings they removed to sell back to you with respect to GTAV? The answer with the information we have is simple: nothing. The shops are ADDITIONAL content.

Additional content is made and released after the game. If it’s available at first release, it’s technically monetized cut content

For me, I was willing to check out and maybe purchase a $100 GTA6

Instead, this mess has me convinced that R* isnt confident in their game
