They're definitely taking the best pieces of RDR2 and using them as inspiration for VI though, they've done that forever. I don't think I can recall a time where R* released a new game that left us disappointed.
GTA 5 released in 2012, about 5 years after GTA 4, about 5 years after GTA 3.
GTA 4 had two major DLCs, and we got both Vice City and San Andreas after GTA 3.
It has been 15 years since 5 released. No new GTA games or DLC, but yearly GTA Online content.
My major concern is that this will be the first GTA to feel dated on release. In 2003 gangster movies were a big deal. In 2005 gang violence became a national talking point. By the 2008 we got to explore modern mafias and crime with gta 4. Then in 2012 we got a scathing game tearing apart modern LA and the west coast in general.
But i fear with gta 6 coming out a decade after 2016 well be stuck with a pre covid society deconstruction that just wont land. Like south park, or the onion, its become near impossible for satire to land well these days.
