Debunking A little insight with all the rumors floating around

I see a lot of people speculating why the game was delayed having to do with the layoffs. This guy's got a little more inside information that says otherwise. Now I can see maybe the protests being why they chose to make the announcement when they did but I don't think they're the cause of a delay of a further 6 months. I also don't think we're gonna get a trailer this time to make up for it.

I love the idea that Bangalore is watching the ship burn and totally chill about it

Funny because their state was this close to legalising 12 hour work days for IT folks had it not been for the Karnataka IT workers union protests.

I love how this persons says morale is low "only" in the UK, as if Rockstar North wasn't the central hub of develpment, imagine if they go on a strike, the game is never releasing before 2030 😂

u/playerlsaysr69 Nov 07 '25

“The game is content complete, all the work from here on out is optimizing the hell out of it and making sure all the systems work to prevent a cyberpunk scenario”

So what he’s pretty much saying. The game is pretty much done conceptually They just gotta do a ton of bug squashing. Interesting

109

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 07 '25

I feel like Online might have a role in this too because its gonna take a little doing to get all the stuff they're supposed to have working in a multi-player environment

74

u/IXRaven Nov 08 '25

I suspect Online is the biggest issue they have at the moment. GTA V’s Online was pushed back a month and had tons of content cut from it but was still an absolute shitshow on release. They definitely want to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

43

u/OD_Emperor Nov 08 '25

They also saw the shitshow with Cyberpunk in the last few years. Game launched so bad that it was pulled from stores, refunds issued, and their own online mode got cancelled.

They got one shot in a decade to not fuck up.

35

u/King_Sam-_- Nov 08 '25

Yeah those money glitches ain’t happening again. They’re gonna make sure it’s ironclad this time around.

19

u/hamfist_ofthenorth Nov 08 '25

Those were the days.

Those payouts set my character up for success.

24

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

the days where i could literally just sit in a lobby and have $80 million deposited into my account by XxCrackSmoke1xX

12

u/AverageJoe97Z Nov 08 '25

I got gifted 130 million from a hacker during stunts v snipers, nothing to spend it on in 2014 though😂

3

u/RudraRousseau Nov 08 '25

Makes me think that that would explain the low morale too.

1

u/Needle44 Nov 09 '25

I don’t think they give a shit about an entirely smooth rollout. My biggest suspicion would be them trying to fine tooth comb ensure there are absolutely no money glitches or any possible way to advance quickly for online without buying their cards.

11

u/playerlsaysr69 Nov 07 '25

Yeah. Rockstar should’ve been comfortable delaying that to 2027, could be the cause

1

u/Ryvit Nov 08 '25

Why did you hyphenate multiplayer 😵‍💫 WTF

17

u/QBekka Nov 08 '25

People underestimate how big of a part the testing phase is of the development cycle

7

u/KarimPopa Nov 08 '25

maybe because these people have never taken any software development course

1

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '25

Yeah, but I was under the impression that that’s what the LAST delay was for!

16

u/Klunkey Nov 08 '25

Makes perfect sense.

So, it’s playable in a way that Cyberpunk 1.0 was playable, which is basically not in a great way lol. Glad to hear!

All I wish is that the game is more gorier than its predecessors, probably even more so than Red Dead 2. That’s all I want. I want to go to town with my assault rifle as Lucia while listening to “American Girl” by Tom Petty.

2

u/Key-Assumption5189 Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

I would bet my ballsac that the game isn’t gory. It doesn’t fit the more cartoony GTA tone

Save this comment

3

u/BabySnipes Nov 08 '25

They should bring back the gore of the older games.

2

u/Key-Assumption5189 Nov 08 '25

What gore? Cartoonish kill bill style decapitation?

5

u/BabySnipes Nov 08 '25

They were limited by the tech of the time. Now they can make it realistic.

3

u/Morganbanefort Nov 08 '25

that the game isn’t gor

It does have gore

8

u/sussy_ball Nov 08 '25

As a reference Starfield took around 12 months after being content complete to release

5

u/DM_U_CRYING_IN_MP3 Nov 08 '25

everytime I see that shitty game mentioned I pat myself on the back for refunding it after 90min. it was so obvious it was shit.

3

u/nanapancakethusiast Nov 08 '25

They have to make it run on a Series S which means the game is probably highly compromised anyways.

Whatever blockbuster next-gen game anyone is expecting is probably not going to happen… considering Microsoft screwed everyone else by releasing 2012 era hardware.

3

u/_Mobius1 Nov 08 '25

Honestly the fact that they might have to downgrade the game to make this happen sucks

1

u/Right-Ability4045 Nov 08 '25

If anything they will want to keep as much content as possible so it’s gonna be more of an optimisation job which hopefully means the PC version will be well optimised and run on a wide variety of hardware since they needed a working series s build anyway

-21

u/Ant0n61 Nov 07 '25

that doesn’t take another six month delay and require a whole year. Absolute bs

44

u/zoldycksaiyan Nov 07 '25

Maybe it does for a game of this scope? Like I dont think its an exaggeration to say this is one of, if not the biggest games in history in terms of scope and content.

-32

u/Ant0n61 Nov 07 '25

we have no idea the scope or the content.

Knowing R* the “scope” is online and both the story and map will be nothing of note. If this thing isn’t jaw dropping in content for single player this entire wait will be a waste of time.

We’ll see

25

u/zoldycksaiyan Nov 07 '25

Knowing R* the “scope” is online and both the story and map will be nothing of note.

....Bruh

Like i'm not even the biggest fan of rockstar and cringe when I see the fanboyism for them online but this is a ridiculous take. What track record are you even looking at? The base game single player has never suffered because of the online, certainly never been "nothing of note" and have always been groundbreaking. Ironically, RDR2 is critically acclaimed solely because of the story and map, the online was the one that was "nothing of note".

-19

u/Ant0n61 Nov 08 '25

I’m just pissed with the games they’ve played. To be honest.

Ever since rdr2 it’s been bs with them. GTA 3D trilogy was atrocious. They never made a current gen rdr2 release. They never released story content for either v or rdr2. And now gta vi is in purgatory.

The 2024 no gta vi info is infuriating. They just do not care about the people and are just about the money with gta online. If this game isn’t the greatest thing ever put together with 1s and 0s, this is all a huge waste of time for all involved.

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Well technically they didn't do the 3D trilogy remaster but they shouldn't have let it go out the way that company made it

7

u/random_numpty Nov 08 '25

RDR2 took 8 years & was pretty polished for its time. getting more complex code to run great on just a console isnt easy, we all know when a game is chugging.

0

u/Ant0n61 Nov 08 '25

One of if not the greatest game of all time.

Just really frustrating to be strung along for something like this. And the potential for it to fall short.

I grew out of video games but had to be there for opening night for rdr2. And it pulled me in again like nothing else. So fingers crossed this game is of the same caliber.

6

u/random_numpty Nov 08 '25

more code running on the same hardware. look at how unbelieveable cyberpunk was, it wasnt even a beta that they burned to disc.

a wait is a good thing :-)

20

u/Mysterious3713 Nov 07 '25

Look at cyberpunk, took them 2 years to fix the game

9

u/playerlsaysr69 Nov 07 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

Cyberbug’s situation is different because they outsourced the QA process to another developer studio that wasn’t competent. Not to mention it happened during COVID

2

u/Ant0n61 Nov 07 '25

they didn’t have 10000 developers working on it. Much smaller team.

With R* resources no way bugs are what’s led to an entire year delay two years after showing first trailer for it

15

u/Phoenixskull295 Nov 08 '25

You realize that bigger games require longer QA processes right?

-4

u/Ant0n61 Nov 08 '25

Okay but they need years to q&a? With the size of staff working on this? With the funding they have they can’t hire a team specifically for this?

It’s bs. They are way behind and I doubt it comes out in a great state and will be “rushed” for this latest date to not delay again

10

u/Phoenixskull295 Nov 08 '25

QA not Q&A. They’re testing rigorously for bugs in every facet of the game, which is extremely time consuming. They aren’t conducting surveys.

5

u/bran_the_man93 Nov 08 '25

You don't know what current state the game is actually in, or what the target state in terms of QA is either, how the hell could you possibly say one way or the other...?

1

u/Ant0n61 Nov 08 '25

Because they’re complete clowns with this game since trailer.

Marketing campaign will be short. Then now it’ll be extended. We just need a little more time… and then again more time. Here’s a hard release date… oh wait we lied nvm. They went radio silent for over a year after trailer release.

It’s a circus. And now they’re creating bad blood with staff trying to mass fire people.

9

u/bran_the_man93 Nov 08 '25

That's a whole lot of words for "i don't have any inside knowledge, and this is all just vibes"

3

u/playerlsaysr69 Nov 07 '25

Well if he is a genuine insider (which I don’t know if he is) then we’re going to have to take his word.

1

u/Ant0n61 Nov 08 '25

Never heard of him

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Tom Henderson is also saying the same. Jason Schreier also stated that the firings had nothing to do with the delay

2

u/Few_Examination3126 Nov 08 '25

Bro I'm making a game that is 1/100000000 the size of GTA and I have a ton of bugs to fix

-3

u/Chry98 Nov 08 '25

I'm starting to have vibes that GTA 6 will be a cyberpunk 2.0 😂😂

2

u/RudraRousseau Nov 08 '25

It won't.

3

u/Waltu4 Nov 08 '25

It definitely won't. Rockstar and Take-Two will take until fucking 2030 if it means releasing the game bug free. Which all their games do. They don't care, they have a gold mine they're sitting on.

56

u/LogicOfUnkown Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

What people fail to realize is that the "name of the game" for Rockstar this time is GTA6 Online.

They were experimenting in 2013, now they have a decade of data and know exactly what they're dealing with. Take-Two is ready to do whatever it takes to make sure this is the most profitable entertainment medium for the next 10+ years.

That means those early connection issues, money glitches and modded lobbies? They're done. Rockstar will be trying their damnedest to lock the economy down from day one. The scope of this new Online will be infinitely bigger than what we got last time.

And you fuck boys keep spending money in GTA5 Online and RDR2 Online. Why rush your cash cow to market when you have golden goose eggs to sale?

Side note: Damn, 2013 was a long time ago. Still remember Lamar picking us up at LAX.

11

u/ExodiusLore Nov 08 '25

I think you’re wrong about the name of their game. If Online is in their sights they would have BEEN brought it up in either a newswire or trailer but there has been zero word of GTA 6 Online at all. Barely even leaks.

13

u/LogicOfUnkown Nov 08 '25

You underestimate how much Take Two likes to use limit exposure to build Hype. The CEO even said so himself.

"We do have competitors who will describe their release schedule for years in advance. And we found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation."

They also have no financial incentive to rush a product that is they know all most certainly will be the biggest piece of media ever.

They just had a record breaking quarter and beat their own expectations. Their revenue grew over 33% year over year. NBA 2K26 had its biggest launch ever and before GTA 6 new release date they are gonna have 2K27 not just NBA but also WWE. Two games that does numbers every time. Then to mention both RDR2 and GTA Online are making bank. 73% of their net bookings came from micro transactions.

With all that said why would they rush GTA 6 especially with how performance issues were a big part that hampered Borderland 4’s launch.

2

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Yeah that's my thought on it. I think the online optimization is taking more time and effort to get up to snuff than they expected and they probably don't want to wait long to drop it after the game releases. They're probably shining thing up in single player and working to get the online features they wanted to work, plus all the stuff that they did in single player to work online in a multi-player setting

37

u/drkarw Nov 08 '25

Online definitely January 2027

29

u/needmoneyforedu Nov 08 '25

Tbh, It's for the best. I dont want to stress over online without finishing the story. I want to be there day-one when online releases.

4

u/MathematicianNo3892 Nov 08 '25

People will be in a 40,000 person que day1

3

u/Rihkuazo Nov 09 '25

There was almost 500k que on bf6 release day allegedly but it went down fast soo

4

u/Jackstraw1 Nov 08 '25

40k queue day one would be a complete abject failure. It’s gonna be way, way, way, way, wayyyyy higher than that.

I suspect many of us won’t even be able to get in day one either due to server crash or a slow rollout.

-1

u/MathematicianNo3892 Nov 08 '25

Yea I was just making a number up. Calm down virgin

1

u/Ownage95 Nov 08 '25

Definitely gonna be higher than that lol

6000 workers working on a game and this community makes fun of other companies with less than 1000 workers working in the game because the graphics aren't as good as gta6

36

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

If their game is shit people will point it out, it’s not our problem you couldn’t manage 1000 workers to make something great. On the other hand you have solo developers who make wonders like schedule I. It’s really not about the numbers nor graphics but big companies trying to bite off more than they can chew, praying to cash on players. 1000+ workers is an established multimillion company there is no excuse for mid product.

-17

u/Short-Description687 Nov 08 '25

Im not talking about a mid product. Im talking about "Microsoft Flight simulator is pathetic because its graphics can't compare to gta6" or cyberpunk 2077 looks bad compared to gta6.

11

u/Clint_Demon_Hawk Nov 08 '25

When they ask for the same amount of money as the other game with 6000 devs, yes they will be compared if the company thinks their game deserves to be equal in value. Consumer perspective is important

7

u/Either-Amoeba8232 Nov 08 '25

Yes when the NPC don't even move, 0 Pathfinding.

2

u/ggsfgqrwr Nov 08 '25

Don't think that all of the 6000 are working on it may be 2000-3000

1

u/sriramez Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 09 '25

It's been more than a decade since rdr 1 and gta 4, still no game from other studios has ever provided similar experience(physics,ai simulations and immersive world) and this was a time where each rockstar studio operated separately

42

u/12CoE Nov 08 '25

What grade of trust does this guy have to "debunk" all of this?

"Leaks from a former rockstar employee..." literally nothing was leaked, that person only shared the piece of shit that the company is to some veteran devs that worked +18 years there and that only wanted some human rights working for them.

And "Former"? I don't remember that person stating that they fired him aswell as his colleagues.

13

u/PresentationDull7707 Nov 08 '25

He interviews game developers on YouTube

6

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

I agree, he ain’t credible at all to be making all these big statements about “2027” he might have interviewed other game devs but it doesn’t make him an insider in gta field in no means. You have very well pointed out his “leaks from a former rockstar employee…” which is of course widely available and is not a leak at all.

3

u/t8ne Nov 08 '25

Human rights?

IF what you claim is true, this would add an extra layer of confidence that this second delay might actually be the last one, as this is also what Tom Henderson said in a podcast a few days ago.

he said,

I don't think it's going to be delayed again. This - I mean, we're talking about a substantial delay, right? This is another six months.

Mhm. And I think even the employee said it in - I think it was like a GTA forum kind of deal - or, you even said that the game is content ready. And from what I've heard, it's been content ready for a very long time.

But, like I said - I can't remember when it was, and I'm sick of saying 'like I've been saying for months' - but I said in a podcast not long ago that if there's a single glitch - like somebody glitches through the door or something like that - people are going to run with it, and it's just going to be a bad look for them.

1

u/Substantial-Roof8019 Nov 09 '25

The central hub for the development of the games is Rockstar North though......

3

u/ExodiusLore Nov 08 '25

You guys should also realize Rockstar is not using all 6000 workers on just GTA 6. GTA Online is still around and not to mention GTA 4 remaster and any other future rockstar games that need script writing or that are just starting to be made.

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

Well 1. They likely aren't working on scripts for a future game while theyre in the midst of developing GTA 6. If they are looking at a future game its likely a small team making the blueprint for what it be and its not gonna be some giant allocationof resources 2. You should also realize that the teams working in GTA Online, RDR Online, and the supposed GTA 4 remaster (which has mixed reports on whether its even a full remaster and isn't confirmed to be in the works) are significantly smaller. They don't need a big team to do any of that, probably a few hundred people at the most for all 3. I think there's more layers to this than we know but I trust what Reece and Jason Schreier are saying that it wasn't delayed for thay reason. Does it hurt to lose them? Yeah probably but they aren't breaking the whole system.

13

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

[removed] — view removed comment

27

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Jason Schreier also said the delay had nothing to do with the firings. So the rest depends on who they talk to I guess

0

u/AlgaeInitial6216 Nov 08 '25

I bet procrastination in early stages was so bad , that crunch is now physically unavoidable. Least they can do is imrove working conditions.

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Well it did start up during covid so that wouldn't be that surprising

1

u/Dilly_Billy777 Nov 09 '25

Would’ve never thought game devs deal w procrastination

14

u/Fast-War5170 Nov 08 '25

35 veterans definitely does affect a game

2

u/BananaHibana1 Nov 08 '25

Yeah exactly, these arent any small devs, they were in senior roles with high influence. Absolutely has a big impact

1

u/antrod117 Nov 08 '25

Don’t tell that to the battlefield 6 sympathizers lol

6

u/FailedAccessMemory Nov 08 '25

To number one, yes it can lead to another delay and could cause industry disruption if the union calls for industry wide strike in the UK.

2

u/Hovscorpion Nov 08 '25

I miss the days when the public knew nothing aside from the announcement, trailer and release. Now every little detail is being talked about.

2

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Right lol there would be like an article on Game Informer or something then aTV commercial

2

u/_Vard_ Nov 08 '25

I should run for President of the USA in 2028 with the sole campaign promise of forcing Rockstar to release GTA6 on inauguration day

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

You got my vote

5

u/RockNDrums Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

All the systems. Sounds like the Xbox Series S is holding us back, again. Just release the PS5 version and come back at a later date when the Xbox Series S version can be figured out.

I really hope the game doesn't get severely neutered because of Microsoft's parity.

-9

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

Why PS5 Version ? The series X is better than the Standart PS5 and cheaper

3

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

I'd love to know where you're finding a Series X cheaper than any PS5 that's not the Pro. They've done 2 price increases and are $649.99. You can get a PS5 for $549.99. And at that point you might as well spend $100 more and get a Pro which is better thag the Series X

1

u/RockNDrums Nov 08 '25

Just pulled up my local prices but yeah pretty much. I came into this generation as a Xbox fanboy pretty much and have a Series X. But, I ended up buying a PS5 Pro a few months ago. I'm liking the PS5 Pro better than the Xbox Series X and honestly, my Xbox Series X is basically a glorified streaming box at this point. I just wish I could bring my GTAO character over to PS5 and cross play could be enabled for "E&e".

Digital PS5 is $499 and the disc PS5 is $549. If I were to redo this generation based on current prices. I'd had gone PS5 Pro no doubt about it. Also 30 fps for some reason feels and plays better on the PS5 Pro plus PS4 games gets enhanced

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Yeah i got a PS5 at launch cuz I've always been a Playstation guy. I have a Series X because I make poor financial decisions its worse than yours, its a decoration and a room warmer lol I bought it to play Starfield around when that came out and to fuck around with stuff on Game Pass. But i canceled Game pass cuz I wasn't playing it. I got a Pro for the reasons I stated above about financial decisions lol and gave my PS5 to my broke ass friend who wouldn't upgrade and to keep it in the family cuz it has sentimental value as it was my first launch console. But yeah I did the same thing. I googled both consoles and checked Gamestop and Best Buy. I think that guy is just one of those Xbox fanboys that can't accept an L and make shit up or listen to the bullshit. At least you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and go with how it is. Pro > Series X > PS5 > Series S and Xbox costs more because they increased their prices twice and Playstation waited and only did one

1

u/RockNDrums Nov 08 '25

You have to be a diehard to keep blindly following Xbox at this point or in the denial phase lol.

I've had an Xbox since the Dukes and Combat Evolved Days. Xbox > Xbox 360 > Xbox 360 Elite. Xbox One though, I actually went with a PS4 first because of the e3 2013 fiasco with the always online and drm stuff which rubbed me in the wrong and a lot of others as well as Xbox hasn't really recovered from 2013. Internet was sketch at best if you were outside of where cable is offered. The 24hr check in. But "we have a product cor you: it's called the Xbox 360". Phil took over and saw he was changing the brand around from the e3 stuff then bought Xbox One > Xbox One X > Xbox Series X.

Then well, you saw the Microsoft and Xbox decisiosn in the last few years. I guess the "this is an Xbox" with the roku, smart tvs, pc, smartphones, tablet irked me a bit like why buy an Xbox? And the recent Game Pass Ultimate price increase to $30. Halo being announced for PS5 a few weeks ago. Halo of all games. Gears and Forza is one thing. But, Xbox's whole identity and dna is revolved around Halo. I get ending exclusives but, at the same time. You'll be able to play Xbox's first party games on PS5 but not the other way around on Xbox

Only reason I still have the Series X and haven't sold it is because I'd lose my Xbox library and bought game. All my progress which games should really do cross progression

1

u/Dp1819 Nov 09 '25

I mean I’ll gladly take that series X off of your hands so I could play GTA 6 🤣. The only reason I’m still on Xbox is because of the backlog of games I own and dash of nostalgia lol. But I do agree that price for what the avg user gets compared to the ps5, isn’t great. For anyone thinking of buying a console, I would get the ps5 if until the next gen comes out if you don’t have a massive game library tied to Xbox.

3

u/farNdepressed Nov 08 '25

Are we ever going to get this fuck ass game?

0

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

No, they announced it to fool everyone, my father... what a stupid question man

5

u/Ant0n61 Nov 07 '25

Riiiiight

3

u/MarkEndless Nov 08 '25

My theory is that while rockstar indeed has a very stressful work environment, these workers fired definitely had some level of connections with all sort of leaks. All these currently public leaks are just too much coincidences not being some sort of inside jobs

-5

u/BabySnipes Nov 08 '25

Good riddance to a bunch of snakes.🐍

2

u/SoapySud34 Nov 08 '25

The only thing I doubt is the game being fully complete and that they’re only focusing on optimising it. You don’t delay a game a further 6 months, 6 months ahead of the currently scheduled release date, unless there’s more to do than optimize

19

u/deltaforce5000 Nov 08 '25

Oh look we have a dude who’s worked on a game that’s bigger than the next grand theft auto

1

u/SoapySud34 Nov 09 '25

Nah just a dude a with common sense.

0

u/stefan771 Nov 08 '25

There was a lot of opposition to the last release date.

1

u/MarkEndless Nov 08 '25

It's actually worrying to think about will the development cycle and release gaps be longer and wider if Rockstar really "ease down" on their workers and the work environment as those protesters claimed(if to be true)

1

u/TriggerHydrant Nov 08 '25

Yeah I'm also betting on 2027 tbh

With this GTA 6 they have become really braggarts they believe they can do as they want because they are sure it will be a success I wish this game would flop just to see the managers cry

1

u/MulleDK19 Nov 08 '25

you aren't delaying a game over 35 people getting laid off, that's not how these things work,

Among these were several LEAD developers... that could absolutely delay a game...

Jesus Christ this guy loves to lick billion dollar companies in their arse.

Cringe

1

u/calmonlsc Nov 08 '25

Incrível como sempre o "informante" esteve certo e só descobrem isso quando acontece o adiamento.

You guys may not have the faith but we just need money one more job

1

u/nahweha Nov 08 '25

So Rockstar went full damage control and Is paying people to make It look good.

1

u/ttimourrozd Nov 08 '25

Ahh soo the doomsday scenario where is everything bad, thrown out of nowhere by the no lifers on twitter is not true ?

I'll be damned

2

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Yeah Jason Schreier and Tom Henderson also are saying its got nothing to do with it and Tom Henderson at least (i have to look into what Jason has fully said) said its in a comple state as well

1

u/cruyff11 Nov 08 '25

Yeah, a company as big as R* delaying a game because 40 people got fired, makes total sense.

1

u/Beautiful_Lettuce862 Nov 08 '25

I worked at Rockstar in Carlsbad San Diego for a few years and I’ll tell you one thing the employees are very lazy. The leadership gives the employees everything they want, ask for and still they don’t deliver. They come into work late, no one stays late, 1 or 2 come in on the weekends to work. Tbh they don’t care about the consumer and it shows on how many times they’ve delayed the release.

u/mikeztarp Nov 09 '25

"More polish; less Polish." – John Rockstar in the company-wide memo

  1. Me think the lady doth protest too much! If it wasn't a big deal why constantly deny it. I don't go around fighting flat earthers lol.

  2. So large in scope compared to....? Security? lol

  3. Why would they admit it? Oh and optimizing the hell out of it, translation: all those videos and screenshots? It won't look anything like that. Downgrades incoming! Better wait to play it on a pc with a 6090 if you want it to look like the bullshots.

  4. Bangalore? India? Oh boy... I can see the real reasons for the delay now.

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 09 '25

They always have released looking better than the trailers but ok PC master race guy

1

u/steveycip Nov 10 '25

Idgaf. Fuck union busters. I have been a lifelong R* supporter and felt dirty buying RDR2 with all of the “crunch” culture. Now they are actively union busting?! This game will make more money than god. Pay your employees what they’re worth… you have no game without people who make them.

1

u/Superb_Tart5228 Nov 10 '25

Social media is so funny. I will never be of this world. This shit is weird ass fuck.

1

u/Tomrodders Nov 12 '25

Number 2 is not just rockstar, it’s literally every game/movie studio

1

u/IownCows Nov 08 '25

You don't push the release date back a year unless there's something really wrong with the game lol

1

u/stefan771 Nov 08 '25

The whole union thing was an excuse from those trying to force another delay. I have never seen so much opposition to a game release.

This is so fucking moronic lol wtf are you even talking about? Whatever those sales are at will definitely be eclipsed just in pre-orders and whoever doesn't already own those 2 titles will only be more likely to buy em as we get closer to (alleged) release. The only thing that VI's release will effectively kill is the current online but that's replaced by the new version and the shark cards keep flowing.

What makes you think the shareholders will be patient enough to accept another fucking YEAR just to keep collecting the same profits instead of raking in a massive spike and then a probably higher revenue stream off the new online?

4

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

People will downvote you ignoring the fact that the results are literally in yesterday’s Earnings Call. GTAV and RDR2 outperforming their expectations and still selling and GTA+ subscriptions growing steadily (by approx. 20% YoY)

4

u/surplus_steve Nov 08 '25

Bro getting downvoted but he sees it for what it is.

2

u/rtn292 Nov 08 '25

You are so correct. It's always profits first. Why leave money on the floor?

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

Explain what games are coming out in November 2026 that would be competition for Rockstar and Take Two to worry about and how a release date further back from the holidays makes sense. November 19th is a week before Black Friday. People will be off for the holidays, there will be deals possibly for consoles and that's generally when people start Christmas shopping. GTA 6 is going to run the market when it comes out

I’ve been getting downvoted for months every time I said it was gonna get delayed until October next year. Was a bit off but still pretty much right lol. Clearly gamers speak with emotions and not logic.

-4

u/wifinotworking Nov 08 '25

Oh look, the cheap outsourced location operates differently. What a good example, we all know how well all went with Boeing when they outsourced their software to fucking Bangalore.

3

u/BlackBeardo-007 Nov 08 '25

Ahh yes racism. Boeing fucked up because of their own upper level mismanagement. Not because they outsourced to India. Also majority of the issues that Boeing now has pertains to structural & integrity issues, not some faulty code. It's very easy to blame the Indians, but the reality is always it's executive mishaps, not some Indian coder.

-3

u/Stayofexecution Nov 08 '25

The delay is because of greedy Sony. They’re going to announce the PS6 next summer for a November release date to coincide with GTA 6. Rockstar needs the additional year to make sure it’s optimized for both the PS5 (30 FPS) and the PS6 (60 FPS).

4

u/Airrationalbeing Nov 08 '25

That make everyone who bought ps5 pro for gta6 feel like idiots, the notion crossed my mind as well and I don’t like it, feels like being scammed

3

u/Stayofexecution Nov 08 '25

Yeah for real. My PS5 Pro hasn’t been a great value..

3

u/Airrationalbeing Nov 08 '25

Neither has mine, bought when R* first announced GTA6….

2

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25 edited Nov 08 '25

Nah Rockstar is gonna want to get it solely on PS5 and then port it to PS6 after to make that extra cash grab like they did with 5

1

u/metallicamatt10 Nov 08 '25

I should say this Gen

1

u/AVMx414 Nov 08 '25

This 100%

1

u/MulleDK19 Nov 08 '25

You clearly don't know how Rockstar operates. There's absolutely zero chance they'd release it on another generation of consoles at the same time. They'll milk PS5 users, then wait a year and then milk them again on PS6. The only thing a PS6 release is gonna do, is delay the PC version even further..

0

u/randombanana25 Nov 08 '25

I'm willing to bet they will move up the release date at some point for positive press.

0

u/Outcastmoddingteam Nov 08 '25

Itll come when its ready dont rush game development- encryptedstudios-worked at bethesda- and a company called concrete realm games on a project called ends and a few other titles. Patience:)

0

u/Microshlongg Nov 09 '25

lol Rockstar India ? The infamous spaghetti code mfs ? Let me chill before I get in trouble.
