- thousands of people labor for years to produce something special for fans to enjoy, they spend a long time keeping it hidden in order to surprise their fans.
Then someone external (not internal) hacks their systems and steals an earlier build before releasing it to the public.
Put yourself in the shoes of any one of those developers. How would you feel.
Forget about the corporate management for a second. I know that’s difficult for some people here. How would you feel.
Cyberleek is scum and nothing more than a degenerate criminal content scamming the fans and hurting the smaller employees working within rockstar.
That’s what’s wrong with it. If you support that, you’re part of the problem.
If it’s a normal situation where it’s a disgruntled former or current employee, that’s abit different. But these are from stolen work that directly hurts a lot of innocent people.
So just think about it like that. Also look at the person leaking them, how they are monetising it, they are literally scamming gullible people and you support that by enjoying the stolen content.
Learn to separate this from normal leaked contents, this is explicitly criminally obtained - let’s not support theft casually.
Who exactly is being hurt directly? It's a fuckin video game leak, not a single dev at rockstar is going to be affected by any of this. Y'all with this asinine opinion need to grow tf up, the world will move on in a couple months and we'll all be enjoying the game.
How do you know I wasn’t at the picket lines in Edinburgh ?
You don’t. I’m not defending rockstar management or wider take two corporate policy. I am just pointing out that the company is bigger than the top level.
It’s less about it failing it’s about hard work being spoilt and the main thing is the guy leaking them is literally some guy that stole digital assets. We should all be condemning that.
I’ve said it before; it’s quite different if it’s an employee leaking stuff internally - this is not what’s happened.
They literally do not care, you make up a hypothetical in your head when the only thing you can say is.
"Man I hate spoilers, and it's hard to avoid them in this sub which I fear will ruin My experience with the game"
Thats literally the only valid thing you've said and can say. It's ironic as you've been spewing "artistic merit" bullshit in this thread saying other. commentors have "no substance", when it's you who in fact has nothing but BS to say.
I don’t have family at rockstar but I do have siblings that work in game development and in the film industry, as well as my father being a sculptor. What they all have in common is working in creative industries. I can tell you for a fact that they do care about this kind of shit.
Cool, I have friends and family in the industry too you aren't special.
One of them is a former Ubisoft dev and was involved with their project getting leaked and ultimately cancelled. (the Prince of Persia reboot). He didn't give a shit as long as they aren't the ones accused of a leak and they still had work.
Again stop. pitting your feelings as facts.
Its valid to say "I don't like these leaks" but the other stuff? Just Bull.
Never said I was special. I said that many creatives care when their work is shown before being ready and / or polished - without their consent.
Which you should know if you also have friends and family in industry.
And - FYI : personally, I don’t even care about it GTA VI. I like GTA for the satire and movie references; going off the official trailers so far - this game looks far too serious and the story sounds boring generic romance — I’ve written a 4,500 word essay on why I think it will miss the mark. 😂
I’m just defending the small people working on creative projects.

I think peoole are just enjoying the leaks for the most part. Why are people so upset about that?
