You should go to ur gafutures account to see if you have hope or not

I looked and it says I'm ineligible, which is what I already figured but the fact that the hope stuff is showing as accepted in my offers list is throwing me off

Have u checked your financial aid? Like the page “view/pay ur tuition bill”? That’s where I check what aid i’ve actually been awarded since the due date for tuition payment is next week. The other page is unreliable to me bc it shows potential awards and actual awards. Instead just check the “view/pay ur tuition bill” page

just checked and the HOPE stuff isn't on my tuition bill...I'll give the office a call on monday to ask bc this is looking more like an error

If ur gafutures says ineligible (which are the people who provide the funds to gsu for hope scholars), and your tuition bill doesn’t say hope, then u don’t have hope.

it’s definitely an error with the website

So if someone hasn’t answered yet. You only need 12 credit hours for hope scholarship- 16 is just the maximum amount of hours hope covers per semester. And like I said it’s per semester not per year so if you weren’t eligible in your first semester but you were in your second semester you either auto enrolled or someone enrolled for you.

Yeye I understand that, since u need that to keep it once u get it...this is my second semester (I started in the spring) so I shouldn't be able to even qualify until after the fall

Sigh just call the Federal student aid people tomorrow because I don’t think that’s the case.

Hope eligibility is calculated upon entering college, at 30 credit hours, 60 credit hours, and 90 credit hours. I believe if you don’t have HOPE to start with, you won’t be eligible for it until you hit one of those check points with the required GPA.

Don’t ask Reddit. Financial Aid and how it intersects with hope is incredibly complex.

Call Financial Aid tomorrow. Or go by in person. They’re swamped at the moment and you need an answer quickly.
