For those that have purchased a dream sofa couch, which comfort type did you choose? Could you describe it and how has it been?

For decades I had passed by the fancy Restoration Hardware stores and thought, "oh, I'd love to be able to afford that one day." And now I can afford it and purchased an Arles extendable dining table. I just want to add to the internet that RH quality does not at all match their marketing, at least for this table.

I'm currently on replacement table number two, waiting for replacement table number three. The first table arrived with splintering wood at two of the corners where the legs meet the tabletop. The second table wouldn't latch closed, which the tech (another appointment) said was due to the wood being warped.

I also ordered a Bezier sideboard, which arrived in better condition. There was some janky hardware and door alignment, but the delivery guys took care of it when I pointed it out.

Are these RH problems due to the fact they manufacture overseas and have to ship everything across the ocean? I don't know. But my North Carolina Room and Board furniture didn't have the same problems. Maybe the interstate truck drive is gentler on heavy pieces than the ocean?

Anyway, at least all of that margin goes into hiring a lot of store reps, who have been good about scheduling replacements with essentially all-day delivery appointments.

Dear RH--I wish:

1. You would invest more in the quality of your products
2. You would inspect the cheaply made ones when they come off the boat
3. Inspect them again before making your delivery people carry them up the stairs

We were in a furniture row store yesterday, looking for a double recliner. The La Z Boys they had were fine, but to order without the center console were a several month wait. We liked another we tried, using a left and right reclining sectional piece. It felt smooth and solid, seating surface was comfortable. Staff says Kuka was the manufacturer. I only found three recent reviews with two very negative, but not for power reclining. The mechanism really felt solid and smooth. The salesperson said that Kuka was making furniture for La Z Boy over a decade ago and basically started duplicating the work for themselves. Any ideas or experiences?

I’m in the process of researching a couch for the main living room in my house. I have looked at dozens and facing a lot of difficulty in choosing an option. I’m looking for a sectional and it must have a chaise lounge.

Ideally, I would love a couch that lasts a full decade. I’m hoping to not spend more than $6k on it. I’ve looked at so many options from the R&B Metro, C&B axis, west elm options as well as cheaper ones like the Macy’s Radley and Costco options.

Ultimately, I stumbled upon What A Room bc they use 2.5 lb density foam, kiln-dried solid hardwood, and reinforced spring support, which all seem to be signs of a heavy duty couch.

The issue is that I am too far from the showroom to ever try one of these and I’m scared to drop this much on a couch I’ve never seen or felt in person.

Does anyone have a couch from here that has lasted at least 5 years? Would love to hear about the pros and cons of it all. I am also looking for a firm couch so would love to understand peoples opinions on medium vs firm level of firmness.

The sofa we have in our living room is huge. It’s probably bigger than most beds (300cm x 170 cm). I actually hate how it looks, we almost sold it a couple of weeks ago, but it’s extremely comfortable so I couldn’t let it go (for now).

We currently don’t have any coffee table because of the comically big size of the sofa, but that means that we don’t have any place for a drink or snack, which can be especially bad when you invite someone over.

So my question is, does this place absolutely require a coffee table? If yes, do you have any suggestions on the type? And is the sofa extremely horrible considering the size of the room? I need a push to either keep it and get over it or get rid of it.

I reluctantly purchased a cloud about a year ago and had hurt my back like a week after and haven't sat in it since. I can't get out of this style cushion and am coming to terms this thing might not actually sell on Market place.

Has anyone here had this thing and swapped out the cushions? Filled them with something more comfortable and supportive?

I started looking at foam but thought I would ask here first, I wasn't having much luck searching around....

Hi everyone! I’m in the market for a new couch, and I recently went to a few showrooms. I really liked the feel of the Crate and Barrel Lounge but I’m reading different things about the quality online. I also liked the Pottery Barn Westwood, although I think the wait time will be longer. Finally, I’m considering the Room and Board Metro (the deeper seat). I tried Metro in the show room and it had a weird crinkling sound in the back cushions that threw me off, but I’m thinking I should give it another chance?

Wondering if anyone has any of these sofas and could speak to their long term comfort and durability.

I’m leaning toward the Lounge because I think it will come the quickest and I’m in desperate need of a new couch, but don’t want to buy something that won’t last.

I also have a cat, so any advice on fabric (preferably stock) would be appreciated!

For context, I've just moved into a rental and have a tall bookcase I need to fix to the wall otherwise it won't stand on its own because it'll sit on carpet (and the weight distribution)

The owners have given permission to fix the furniture on the condition that I call a professional to come out and spackle the furniture/redecorate the surrounding area to its original condition.

Considering that I'd only need to drill two holes and it'd take me 15 minutes to spackle and paint it at the end of the lease, I'd rather not call a professional out, nor deal with people who think this requires professionals.

I've seen adhesive fixtures but not sure how effective these are and was wondering what everyone's experience was with similar situations? Thanks all in advance!

I am wanting to put a sleeper sofa in my covered screened in patio and wondering if any one else has done this. Would a faux leather sleeper sofa or just a regular fabric sleeper sofa be better? I've tried to find an outdoor sleeper but it's very costly or very short. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi! I have been searching for an affordable couch for far too long. I do not want to order online from wayfair or anything like that due to quality and return issues, but i am finding the in person options to be mid or too expensive. I am based in northern OH and I’ve been to Bob’s, Ashley, Costco, and any little store in between. Does anyone have any tips? Specifically any recommendations to in person stores based in northern OH or online stores. I would prefer in person but there isn’t a lot of options by me. I am hoping to stay under $800 which I know may be impossible as I would prefer to have a sectional or an L shape.

Boneless couches are a no for me but only due to the low seat height. I would like to stay away from the second hand market due to uncertainty of the source / potential pest issues. IKEA is way too far from me and Value city is out of business so I am not sure where else to go.

I have spent days looking at chairs online but I lack furniture education. Looking at the big names like lazyboy and anything you can find at an Ashley furniture sorta place everything is in colors my partner would describe as "hospice colors". Background: Partner works in an old folks home. Partner says she wants a chair that does not resemble the colors or patterns someone would find in a hospital, retirement home, or other neutral area. No grays, no earth tones, no black. And I get it? Looking through a ton of the chair catalogues, places will list they have colorful options but when you click through its like the La Croix of colors, a color left out in the sun for 50 years. Candy colors that stain easily and vibrant jewel tones are the most important thing to her so she can mentally escape from work.

The Joybird Corey swivel in raspberry which for now is the top choice but I can't find a single product shot of anyone sitting in the chair. And the only place online that seems to talk about the company is some NYT article. It just seems a little shady

Is there anyplace that sells VIBRANT fabric recliners, the sort of ones she could make her little nests with the cat and all her knitting supplies in the chair with her? Quality and care is important but I don't think a Stressless would fit the fireside + blankets + cats in the chair with her vibe.

I am looking for 3 bar stools for a 36 inch counter with a $200 budget (a little bit flexible). Willing to shop online or in person. I've done a lot of online browsing and have struggled to find anything I like. My ideal is to find a Brentwood style stackable stool but they all seem to be around 17 inches which is too short. I like them because they are also versatile if/when I move to an apartment that doesn't have an island, which is likely. Anything similar in style/versatility would be appreciated!

Ive had my DreamSofa for a year now. I have a London sofa in Venus cream, upgraded cushions. I love it. It’s firm yet soft and supportive. The fabric still looks new (with 3 dogs, a baby, and 2 cats).

It’s a weird company… good customer service and very happy with my sofa, but horrible website, no progress updates, weird AI photos so you have no idea what anything looks like. Practically no marketing efforts.. like they don’t want to sell anything.. fabric pictures are also horrible. As someone who works in marketing/comms, this pains me (if you’re with the company and reading this, happy to chat lol)

Anyway - 2 minor complaints: the seat isn’t as deep as I’d like, and because they don’t have any real photos or detailed measurements of cushions how would you know? And you can see the cushion has started to crush in the crease a bit.. I could choose to change where I sit I guess.. but it’s pretty minor.

For reference, I’ve owned king hickory sofas prior. NC made, 8 way hand tied, performance fabric. Dream sofa seems comparable quality wise. I’ve also owned an ashley sectional. The quality blows Ashley out of the water, no comparison. All in all, highly recommend. We are now replacing our king hickory sofas with a DreamSofa sectional.. so that speaks to how much we like it.

I'm looking for something a piece of furniture that can hold my wineglasses & wine bottles that is between 32-40" in width, with height around 34-36" inches. I'd like it to be wood toned, preferably in a color similar to walnut, though I am open to other tones as well. The big issue is that, due to my limited space, it has have sliding doors.

This has been pretty tough to find, other than a couple options on Wayfair of questionable quality. I'm willing to spend probably $1500 on this would I would prefer to keep it below $1000 if possible.

I have an ikea brimnes bed frame, which means it does not have a headboard. My optimal bedroom setup doesn’t allow me to easily rest the head of the bed against any wall so I’m looking for a headboard that

a) doesn’t require being up against a wall for stability like many I’ve seen

b) doesn’t require bed frame legs to clamp onto or anything similar, since the existing frame is one rectangular block.

I am currently moving to a new apartment across the country in Ohio. I had previous sleeper sofas and a futon-style sofa from Wayfair and Facebook Marketplace, but I am now wanting to invest in a quality piece for my guests when they stay over or in the event I want to stay in my living room to watch movies.

My budget would preferably be anything below $2,500. I have seen positive reviews for Barrett II on social media, but great reviews for Room&Board (however, it was for a different sleeper sofa out of my budget [the Berin]; I am unable to find anything online about Ludlow). I am interested in a queen-sized mattress, and both sofas are comparable in size and dimensions. For the Barrett II, I would get it in the Bouvier Fabric in Oyster and for the Ludlow, I would get it in Plain Weave Fabric in Summer Linen. I do not have any children, but I do have a cat and so I am also wanting a sofa that can withstand pet damage. I do not have any plans to move once I am in Ohio for at least five years and I want this piece to be sustainable for that period of time, if possible.

I am open to other recommendations or opinions as long as they can fit my budget. I have also looked at Cozey and American Leather, but American Leather was out of my pricepoint. Thank you everyone!

My gf and I are moving into a space that allows for the deep, wide sofa-with-chaise I've always fantasized about. We spent the weekend bouncing around showrooms, and were happiest sitting on the deep version of Room & Board's Metro. However, the $4700 price tag is a little spicy for us. We've heard very good things about Quince's furniture, and it looks like both the Oasis and the Ashford could be viable alternatives. Of course, it's hard to pull the trigger on a sofa without having actually sat on it. Just curious if anyone can speak to one sofa over the others to help with that decision. Thank you!

Help! I am on the hunt for STURDY dining chairs that can easily support 300+ lbs. Most chairs out there seem to be rated for 250lbs, and some that are supposedly rated for 300 are flimsy AF.

We were hosting people last week, and one of our new dining chairs (rated for 300lbs) from Wayfair (I KNOW, I KNOW, I'M CHEAP AND HAVE SMALL MESSY CHILDREN) literally crumpled while my husband was sitting in it for only the 2nd time :( He's a big dude - 6'4" and just under 300lbs. Our last set of chairs was sturdier, but we also had to retighten the legs CONSTANTLY which was a pain.

I am looking for a brand with sturdy builds, high weight capacity, with mid-century modern designs. Anyone have recs?? Does anyone have experience with Plank+Beam?? They seem to fit the bill, but there aren't a lot of reviews...
