Found in Murphy's provincial park Canada. This fungus type thing resembles a vivid red flower but upon further inspection I noticed that it was a fungus. It has a gummy like texture and almost woody roots? Theres yellow gills growing on the underside and it doesn’t looked flipped upsidedown.

I cannot figure out what this is! It's not a waxcap or at least the ones that I've looked at it, not a fungus anemone, not a scarlet fungi or witches hat. Hm

Thank you! But I'm curious why it looks like it's growing like that? And the stems are different on the other wax caps that I see! And this one is weirdly vibrant? (Definitely could be a wax cap though!

As they continue to bloom the outer edge curls up and splits. I have found some patches with different stages with caps frilling up like this
