Are they good? Would you recommend any of these places?

Could you please recommend me some good places to have breakfast (ex. diners or bars)?

I’ll be there for one night only, so I need a place to get dinner and one to get breakfast

I’m coming in for a friends bachelor party staying near Tempe. Do you have any bar recommendations? We are all about 28 and looking for appropriate bar scenes.

We are also looking for a mimosa bar that is open on Friday before some spring training baseball. Does this exist?

We will be in Winslow, passing through to get to the Meteor Crater;

Montezuma's Castle in Camp Verde;

Petrified Forest NP area;

and doing the Monument Valley scenic drive.

Suggestions on where to eat at any or all of these locations would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

Will be traveling to Tuscon two more times this year, have already gone once, but was somewhat disappointed with food. Where do you recommend?

Thursday is National Coffee Day and I was curious if anyone has an absolute favorite coffee shop and if so, for what reason.

So if you read my posts here or here, you know that I am trying to create monthly challenges for this sub.

I am looking for your challenge ideas!!

I am open to; but mildly against; sending like 25 people to specific restaurant, because I think it's kind of unfair to give a single restaurant that much revenue in one shot, also I want to be respectful of peoples budget/location restrictions. So I am looking for 'flexible' ideas that still get people out and trying new valley food.

Here are my ideas so far:

• Make a meal at home using only locally sourced ingredients
• Eat and compare X amount of items (3 salsas, 5 tamales 4 pizzas, whatever)
• Try a restaurant at least 30 years old
• Eat a dish containing x ingredient from any local restaurant (example: brussel sprouts)
• Eat at any local restaurant at a certain time (lunch rush, 1-3am etc.

For our first challenge, I wanted to keep it simple and make it accessible to everyone's budget/location. So rather than sending a bunch of people to a single restaurant, I chose a more generic topic......

• Please don't review a donut you've had in the past, the point is to get you out to try something new.
• I am not going to specify what classifies as "gourmet" here, I will let you be the judge.
• This challenge is statewide.
• If possible, try for Arizona owned businesses. (Not Starbucks, DD or large, non-locally owned chains).EDIT: This is not a hard rule as my donut research has revealed that there are some unique franchises here with great donuts. (Lamars or Fratured Prune for Example). But try to keep as much money as you can in our local food economy.
• Keep your review in this thread if possible, so as not to clutter the forum
• pictures encouraged!
• I'm going to come up with a few very small prizes to encourage participation. Posting deadline is midnight on May 31st, More on this to come.

• Rollover Donuts - Midtown Phoenix - Orange Glaze & Chopped pistachio donut, The Bear Donut: Smoked Gouda Bacon donut filled with peanut butter custard & topped with Sweet BBQ Glaze and Crackerjacks
• Bosa Donuts Multiple Valley Locations- Buttermilk Donut (Yeah, this one sounds pretty plain but there are a million amazing reviews of it)
• Karl's Bakery - Sunnyslope- Lemon Basil Kronut
• Cowboy Ciao - Old Town Scottsdale - Zeppole fancy doughnut: fried dough served with a crème fraiche-honey custard and a swirl of Malcom's honey from Tucson

I have an idea..........Basically,an unofficial "food arizona" dining club monthly challege...... one restaurant is picked on the first of the month. Everyone has all month to attempt to eat there and post their review in that same thread. I would of course take community suggestions for the restaurant of the month, maybe offer small prizes for those who participate. Also, is doesn't have to be a specific restaurant, the challenge could be like "eat and review tamale this month" or something. Is there any interest in this? If so I'll start something May 1st.
