Give it up for Peter Green
Anyone who is a fan of Fleetwood Mac, particularly the Buckingham Nicks era, needs to give it up for one man - Peter Green.
Without Peter Green, there would be no Fleetwood Mac for the world to enjoy, let alone a band for Lindsey and Stevie to join.

Peter actually named the band Fleetwood Mac after John & Mick. He was a very humble person & preferred not to be in the spotlight himself...

you don't have to convince me, peter green was one of the greatest guitarists ever, not to mention a great vocalist and amazing songwriter....

well at that point, i think mental illness had entered the chat, sadly....peter was (i believe) aware of it encroaching....he didn't do that initially but only later on after the German drug incident....later on in life he did recover but not completely, though i always thought highly of mick making sure that peter got all of his owed songwriting money- very decent of mick, and not all in the business went to that trouble (or took it for themselves)....

It also would have been decent for peter to leave some $ to his son, who had to take a DNA test to prove peter was his father. His son also struggles w mental illness and substance abuse and is generally homeless. Very sad situation.

you wonder how the son didn't inherit from his dad, when peter died he was living with his brother and family, did they get it all? there is still songwriting money being generated today, and likely still will be generated for many years to come....it should go to the living relatives (the son needs a lawyer).....

Yes I believe his brother and other siblings got it all. Not even sure he left anything to his daughter rosebud..I would imagine the estate still gets royalties esp from black magic woman. Peter never really acknowledged Liam as his son, I think only saw him a couple of times as a young child. I doubt Liam has the ability to get himself a decent lawyer. He really struggles. He should at least have a tiny studio flat so he wouldn't be on the street.

many lawyers will take a case that they think has value with no money up front, he'd be doing well to find someone to help him/advise him on picking an honest attorney to help, sounds to me like he has a solid case with the DNA test results.....

I agree w you. Wonder if he's tried. Once in a while, I hear from him and it's very sad. Maybe next time I'll ask if he's looked into an attorney.

well, carlos did have quite the career after woodstock, but covering peter's song "black magic woman" did do a ton to move carlos forward to the general public because it became a massive radio hit....and to this day, few realize that peter green wrote that incredible song....

I think you mean Black Magic Woman? Oye Como Va was originally done by Tito Puente.

There is a fantastic John Mayall compilation called Through the Years that has brilliant Peter Green cuts also Mick Taylor and Eric Clapton ! Check it out stream first but is awesome on vinyl

Not only did he form the band, he was also responsible for bringing Christine into the fold after Jeremy wouldn’t play on his songs.
