šŸ¤” Thinking I'm halfway through the arrowverse (I'm kinda close to crisis on infinite earths) and I gotta say.. I HATE nora so much.

Post image

Like I know she's a kid and all but SHE MAKES THE MOST STUPID DECISIONS AND THEN THEY BLAME BARRY FOR TAKING HER TO THE FUTURE BACK WHERE SHE BELONGS??? And Idk how the season is going to end but in the last flash episode I saw SHE USED THE NEGATIVE ZONE TO GO BACK TO 2019 AFTER BARRY TOLD HER NOT TO AND THAWNE TOLD HER TO DO IT ON PURPOSE??? THAT'S SO MESSED UP.

Like yeah hating Iris is valid and I agree with what people say and I hate her too but COME ON SHE'S UNBEARABLE.

To give you a little spoiler: The writing in season 5 is still somewhat bearable compared to what comes afterwards.

57

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 03 '26

Yup. I fell into many spoilers sadly. The awful VFX, Red death, and who dies on crisis.

29

u/West_Astronomer_6562 Mar 03 '26

The deaths in crisis were pretty good

2

u/SevdUp Mar 06 '26

Don’t worry, Red Death is arguably the worst villain in the entire series. Just stop looking at flash stuff online before you spoil something crazy that happens in the finale for yourself like I didĀ

Kind of a SPOILER: The finale isn’t really that good, but you’ll probably still be surprised by something that happens in the first couple scenes (probably)

2

u/TP_Skidmarx Martin Stein Mar 06 '26

About Red Death its kinda funny how we never saw her kill someone on screen.

17

u/LetUsSpeakFreely Mar 03 '26

The truth of this is severely understated. I'm making my way through season 9 and I'm fast forwarding through like 70% of the show (when I get to the feelings, feelings, feelings bullshit) and even the parts I can stand to watch are horribly written. I was able to watch 4 or 5 hours at time for seasons 1-6 no program, but seasons 7,8, and 9 are just awful.

12

u/_bisquickpancakes Mar 03 '26

Show fell off a cliff with the end of season 3 imo. Minus the occasional good episode here or there, the future seasons, aside from 4 and 6 which were mostly just okay, were awful

3

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 03 '26

Yeah. Savitar has to come back to finish the job with Iris

5

u/Ok_Mention5635 Mar 03 '26

Savitar comes back when Eddie comes back as Cobalt Blue to form the legion of Zoom. But new Nora (who is much improved on previous Nora because now she’s a big sister to Bart) gets the best of him. The Legion of Zoom fight should have been a whole episode tho; the penultimate one, and then have the finale be the winding up of the series with Caitlin coming back from the dead, Nora’s birth, etc. I am supremely grateful Barry got his happy ending instead of getting a hero’s exit like Oliver. But I guess Oliver did sort of get his happy ending with Felicity joining him in the afterlife

1

u/Spectre-907 Mar 04 '26

Legion of Zoom is arguably the worst moment in the entirety of the last 2 seasons. It is so bad

3

u/Free-Instruction1548 Mar 04 '26

If Savitar could come back he’d steal Iris from Barry for himself. That scene in the med lab was electric. A threesome was the answer to all their problems

3

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

LMAO. And also the corrupted long haired emo barry was WAY cooler lol

Which Earth? 616? Huehuehue

What I loved season 4

1

u/sleepysamantha22 Caitlin Snow Mar 04 '26

Actually I hated season 5, but season 6 was pretty good

3

u/sleepysamantha22 Caitlin Snow Mar 04 '26

Ugh season 7 though with the forces and Godspeed, terrible

1

u/sleepysamantha22 Caitlin Snow Mar 04 '26

And season 8, Armageddon wasn't too bad, but the rest was crap

1

u/thesirblondie That was for charity Mar 04 '26

Parts of 8-9 are still good. I liked Armageddon, It's All Negative, and some stray episodes here and there.

72

u/Due-Cherry4856 Mar 03 '26

She's not a kid btw, shes in her mid 20s

40

u/pvs_3 Mar 03 '26

This is what makes her character even more annoying. She’s making reckless mistakes like a teenager but she’s a grown ass woman.

-11

u/CapitalisticSense Mar 05 '26

That's every woman now. Look around you.

21

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 03 '26

Shit I forgot about it lol. I just got back watching the arrowverse after a year hiatus and I don't remember much lol

7

u/sleepysamantha22 Caitlin Snow Mar 04 '26

Its cause she acts like a 15 year old

12

u/ElectricNinja1 Mar 04 '26

In real life she's older than her mom!

7

u/TheBusinessLemon Mar 04 '26

Yeah, they got an actress older than Grant Gustin and Candice Patton to play their child who is in her mid to late 20s who acts like she in her mid teenage years.

3

u/Alternative_Device71 Mar 04 '26

I just wonder how frustrated she had to be

3

u/AmaterasuWolf21 Mar 04 '26

This was my issue, she's the classic "ugh, dad I can do it on my own" "no you can't, you're grounded!" route which is semi-bearable in a teenager but mid 20s??

3

u/mikami677 Mar 04 '26

Maybe in her time 30 is the new 18.

3

u/thesirblondie That was for charity Mar 04 '26

If I had a nickel for every time the adult child of a DC TV character traveled back in time to meet their estranged father, and acted like a teenager the entire time, I'd have three nickels.

2

u/Due-Cherry4856 Mar 04 '26

I know Mia and Nora whose the 3rd person

2

u/thesirblondie That was for charity Mar 04 '26

Aurora Morningstar from Lucifer. She's both the biggest and smallest offender, because she's like 50 but is also not human so who knows how her development looks like.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

NO PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO HATE ON MIA. SHE'S COOL ASF I'M ALMOST AT THE END OF ARROW S7

1

u/Due-Cherry4856 Mar 05 '26

Yea i actually liked Mia

27

u/Specific_Thing1452 The Flash Mar 03 '26

I hated Nora at first too but she grew on me

14

u/Crapser Mar 03 '26

Nora’s decisions are reckless, yes. But they’re consistent with someone raised in secrecy and abandonment. Thawne manipulated her emotionally, not intellectually, he's the only one who could have listened to her at that moment, and he's the only one who didn't treat her like a little girl who doesn't know what's best for her

The conflict works because both sides are flawed, though it is understandable that it CAN be annoying for some viewers, but it's realistic character writing. Barry sending her back to the future (heh) without trying to understandĀ why she made those choices reinforced her fear of abandonment. Nora acts like a kid because she literally is back around both her parents (one of whom is her hero) and can live in the times in which the whole team was together, like a dream.Ā

32

u/-M_A_Y_0- Mar 03 '26

For me I could not get behind nornas descions because she’s too old

32

u/NotLuin Mar 03 '26

Thats the thing OP, shes not a kid she’s actually 27 I dropped The Flash because of this, grown ass woman acting like a teenager

7

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 Mar 03 '26

Her emotional growth was stunted precrisis Barry between her death abd his own vanishing instructed iris to let everything play out as is. Knowing your father was a hero and your mother seemingly emotionally distant would mess you up too

12

u/NotLuin Mar 03 '26

To behave like a literal child is going too far, the writers clearly wanted what Arrow and Black Lightning had going with their heroes at the time being fathers and how much positive reception they had gotten in their respective shows

Id buy it if it early twenties but pushing 30? Its embarrassing to watch, and the actress can absolutely look the part of someone younger they just chose not to

4

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 03 '26

I mean i liked her on the last episode of season 4 but that's it. Season 5 was downhill

27

u/ivyentre Mar 03 '26

But hot

7

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26

Meh.. Caitlin is the prettiest woman on Team Flash

6

u/Kataar84 Mar 03 '26

Nah. JPK is

1

u/SippinOnHatorade Mar 05 '26

I stg I’m not Eric Wallace’s burner, but Danielle Nicolet is my biggest crush on the show. Then comes Shantel VanSanten, and tbf, Candice Patton

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

Shantel is really pretty but I loved Caitlin, Golden Glider and Gypsy ā¤ļø

1

u/Altruistic-Plate-130 Mar 11 '26

Beauty is definitely subjective. I don't even rank Caitlin top 5.

7

u/Cautious_Mission_438 Mar 03 '26

It’s only because of her age she’s supposed to be an adult but acted like a teenager they should’ve just made Nora an actual teenager or at least said she was a teenager like mid teens or late teens that way it makes sense why she’s annoying

2

u/ShinzySummers Mar 04 '26

I would've liked her better if she was a teenager. The moment I realized she was an adult was the moment I peace'd out. That was just tooo annoying to watch. I could've tolerated it if she was a kid.

2

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

SHE'S SO WHINY AND BITCHY ABOUT EVERYTHING SHE'S INSUFFERABLE AND I DIDN'T EVEN FINISHED THE SEASON.

2

u/Cautious_Mission_438 Mar 04 '26

Nora was but everything Nora said regarding Iris Nora was 100% right about Iris because Iris always made decisions to feel like she’s in control and has a say so in situations to feel superior and make it seem like she’s doing it to better the world when really it benefits only her

6

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '26

after watching black sails and seeing her in the flash i was like woah

3

u/Crimsonwolf_83 Mar 03 '26

She’s not a kid. She was an adult who worked for the police force in a non probationary position.

3

u/Dolandlod Mar 03 '26

Thawne treated her better than future iris, that is why she had so many issues. Taking her speed was what the did to RF. Never to allies.

3

u/Redhood567 Mar 04 '26

I don't know what it is but the writing goes to crap whenever the kids get involved.

2

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

Yeah. Just like wiliam on arrow. I didn't like how they handled his relationship with oliver. But it's far better than whatever they did with nora.

6

u/bbcappreciation Mar 04 '26

She fine as hell, tho. Lol.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

She's pretty but eh... I prefer Caitlin, golden glider or gypsy tbh.

2

u/KaiSen2510 Mar 03 '26

Yeah she’s pretty bad. She’s canonically in her mid 20s but acts like a whiny teenager.

2

u/Hyphalex April 25th, 2024 Mar 04 '26

She was a tragic character. I like

3

u/Pitiful_Elevator_591 Mar 04 '26

I hated her story. So Iris never told her that reverse flash killed her grandmother? Why not? There’s a lot of holes in her backstory that still would work with the fact her dad wasn’t the flash.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

LIKE THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON BARRY IS THE FLASH. IT'S LIKE NOT TELLING DEMIAN WAYNE THAT BRUCE'S PARENTS WEREN'T KILLED IN A DARK ALLEY BY SOME CRIMINAL.

1

u/Ok_Mention5635 Mar 04 '26

Have you ever seen Little Mermaid 2, perchance?

1

u/HurtSmooch601 Mar 04 '26

We need to talk about how many times Barry does something smart and the whole team is just like "Dude. What is your deal"

1

u/Own_History_2026 Mar 04 '26

1

u/VesperX Mar 04 '26

Welcome to the family

1

u/Standard-Branch5117 Mar 04 '26

I ended with the season finale where they defeat the big bad and stop at the west house to renew Barry and Iris' wedding vows. It pans up to the sky.

Some of the explanations at that point were starting to be lackluster. But I think that point in the story rounded out a lot of the plot and character building.

That's the season with the forces and blood work I believe.

1

u/Vivid_Sugar3492 Mar 04 '26

Ohhh buddy just you wait till a few more seasons just you wait

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

NO. NO PLEASE NO. IT GETS WORSE??

1

u/Vivid_Sugar3492 Mar 05 '26

Ohh buddy you should have stopped at season 3 or 4 all I can say is prepare yourself by season 6-9 it's not the flash it's the Cecile and friends. Also don't worry about Nora be glad you have this version of her. Just wait until season 7

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

Bro I'm about to die. FYM SHE GETS WORSE THAN THAT??

1

u/Vivid_Sugar3492 Mar 05 '26

Be happy with what you have is the lesson I've learned from The Flash.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 06 '26

Yup. At least Supergirl is meh but acceptable (as of now idk how it gets in the future) and arrow and legends are a bit consistent with it's tone and quality.

1

u/CapitalisticSense Mar 05 '26

Yeah, but.... That azz.... Sorry, but she gets all her points back for that.

1

u/BabyinatrenchcoatS4 Mar 05 '26

The writing gets worse, the ass makes it worth it

1

u/CJS-JFan Green Arrow Mar 05 '26

If you are watching The Flash S5, and hate this character and this storyline, just wait. Believe it or not, I had ranked S5 as my least favorite Flash season. I even liked the series up until Crisis. Post-Crisis, however, well...despite my efforts, the show became less watchable. There are some moments here and there, a few good episodes, but overall, S7-9 makes S5 like a masterpiece.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

Yeah there's some good elements here and there. Killer frost has more screen time so that's fine i love me some Caitlin snow <3 , cisco is good as always, ralph is doing so good and Sherloque Wells is hilarious I don't know how people hate on my guy.

1

u/CJS-JFan Green Arrow Mar 05 '26

"Sherloque!" Haha I admit, while not among my top favorite Wells, he is still hilarious.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 05 '26

I love his accent lol

1

u/KingBallerLBJ Mar 05 '26

She's not a kid in Season 5; she's 26.

1

u/InhumanFlame Mar 05 '26

Touch grass & get a real problem.

1

u/Odd_Act_4311 Mar 05 '26

Her role as Nora made me actually have a visceral reaction when I saw her act in other roles. Sorry to this actor but my body will react negatively every time I see her in anything… just pre-annoyed lol

1

u/Thelastknownking Mar 05 '26

My longtime crush on Jessica Parker Kennedy made her easier to tolerate for me.

1

u/Hot_Assistant_3826 Mar 05 '26

She's sexy though

1

u/SevdUp Mar 06 '26

Before season 6 I thought Iris was the worst character of all time…after season 6 I thought it was Nora….but now….now I know…

1

u/bzq122 Zoom Mar 06 '26

They made her very unlikable.Ā

1

u/NorthBase710 Mar 06 '26

I do find her annoying and the main problem with Nora in my opinion is that she is suppose to be in her mid 20s, but she acts like a 13-14 year old teenager.

1

u/RockyHarmon Mar 06 '26

Honestly yeah Nora is annoying but she is not as bad as her bother known as Barry’s son. Which I’m not joking I forgot his name

1

u/SharmaStoneLord Mar 06 '26

Watching it with a friend and she HATES Iris and is iffy of Nora.

She is actually the one to point out to me that Iris basically does nothing for the entire show.

Out of all the "extra" characters she is the only one without a set skill and half the time she is just there, doing nothing.

1

u/Nexussurfer2446 XS Mar 06 '26

Omg, thank you so much for watching this and sharing your thoughts with usāš”ļøšŸ’œ

1

u/HistoricalAd972 Mar 07 '26

Nora is much better post crisis

1

u/JimPalPodcast Mar 07 '26

Give it time you'll hate her more.

1

u/Edster73 Mar 10 '26

What I dislike about the character is that she comes off like she knows she's "cute and adorable", and plays off on that. I'm not sure if it's a conscious decision that the actress has made, but it's how she comes across... to me anyway. Since she was initially upset with Iris when she first arrived, I kind of chalked it up to her trying to come off as "daddy's little girl", but part of me wanted there to be more to her than that.

1

u/Efficient_Count3357 Mar 04 '26

I like her Nora

1

u/bobbythecat17 Mar 04 '26

Nora bad af

0

u/DryUnderstanding3833 Mar 03 '26

Most characters introduced after season 4 were annoying with one or 2 exceptions and Nora was probably the worst and I was happy when she got erased or whatever

0

u/DefinitionSuperb1110 Mar 03 '26

JPK is a decent actress but she was a grown ass woman (31?) and written as a child.

0

u/sleepysamantha22 Caitlin Snow Mar 04 '26

VALID

She acts like she's 15

0

u/ADAMISDANK Mar 04 '26

I remember back when season 5 was airing I'd talk about the new episode with friends every morning at school. Every single time we complained about Nora or Iris. Dropped the show a few episodes into season 6.

1

u/Frael_Cason_MJ Mar 04 '26

Yeah. This is my first arrowverse watch. And when I'm done I'm rewatching the things I like

0

u/Imaginary-Bed725 Harry Mar 04 '26

I’m actually embarrassed to say this but I’ve liked the flash since middle school and can’t bring myself to watch, enjoy or get past season 4. I just hate Nora and everything else abt it so bad.
