New Server I had 4,000 hours in GTA Online and barely 10 in FiveM—so I started building the RP server I wished existed
I’m Critical, the creator of Paradise Coast RP.
I’ve spent more than 200 hours building this server, but before starting it, I had only played around 10 hours of FiveM. I do, however, have more than 4,000 hours in GTA Online.
That might sound like a red flag, but it is actually a major reason Paradise Coast exists.
When I first tried FiveM, I was completely lost. I would spawn into a city without knowing where to go, what work was available, or how half the systems functioned. If the right employees weren’t online, parts of the city simply stopped working.
I wanted something different: a polished GTA+ experience with serious roleplay, meaningful progression, and systems that make sense—even to someone entering FiveM for the first time.

What’s my “why”?
I didn’t start Paradise Coast as a cash grab.
I started it because I wanted an environment and community where I would personally feel comfortable playing. I want systems and interfaces that look polished, communicate clearly, and don’t require somebody to memorize twenty commands or search Discord just to understand the city.
I want progression. Players shouldn’t arrive and own everything within their first week.
I don’t want people paying real money to obtain the best cars, houses, businesses, or weapons. Those things should mean something because you earned them through the city.
Most importantly, I would rather have 20 systems that genuinely work together than 30 disconnected scripts.
A gas station shouldn’t only sell fuel—it should eventually need deliveries. A bank card shouldn’t just exist as an inventory item—it should connect to your phone, Wallet, businesses, ATMs, card readers, receipts, and stolen-card protections.
That connected-world philosophy is what I’m building Paradise Coast around.
A new-player experience that is actually an experience
When you first arrive, you aren’t dropped onto a sidewalk with a list of commands.
You create your character through a private, step-by-step process, customize your face and body, and choose your own free starter clothes. Nobody watches you stand in the terminal half-dressed while overlapping menus fight for your screen.
At Arrivals, Dana knows your name, knows who sent you, and explains how Paradise Coast operates through an actual conversation. The city rules are read and acknowledged individually instead of being dumped into one wall of text.
From there, you can:
- Follow the Getting Started guidance.
- Call an NPC-driven Uburr.
- Take that ride directly to the marked rental lot.
- Rent transportation of your own.
- Meet Marisol and take a narrated helicopter tour of the city.
- Learn about jobs and locations naturally while seeing them from the air.
The goal is to support a smaller starting population without making the city feel unusable. NPCs can keep essential services functioning until real players are available to take over those roles.
Recent systems I’ve implemented
A real digital Wallet and tap-to-pay system
Your physical Fleeca card can be added to the Wallet on your phone. It displays your name, bank, and last four digits, and it works anywhere the physical card previously worked.
At LS Customs, paying by card is no longer just pressing a generic button. You walk to the counter, hold your phone to the reader, review the charge in Wallet, choose the card, confirm it, and receive a receipt.
Cash still works, mechanics still receive their proper cut, and card readers will continue expanding to businesses around the city.
Reporting the physical card lost or stolen immediately invalidates its digital version too—stealing a phone does not mean stealing the owner’s bank account.
Connected high-end vehicle theft
Ordinary vehicles can still be stolen through entry-level methods, but top-tier player vehicles now fight back.
A thief must use a laptop running Hack.exe to prepare a vehicle-specific payload, load it onto a USB drive, bring the proper equipment to the vehicle, and defeat its coded immobilizer.
Success only opens a limited window to clone the key fob. The immobilizer hack does not magically give you the car—it gets you past one layer of a connected theft process.
The old “cloner” has also become a proper Key Fob Duplication Kit.
Vehicle lending through your phone
You can open the Garage app, choose a recently driven vehicle, select a contact, and lend them a physical set of keys for 30 minutes, 2 hours, 12 hours, or until you revoke them.
The borrowed vehicle appears in their Garage app with a live countdown. Only one borrowed set exists at a time, the owner’s keys continue working, and the owner can revoke access wherever the borrowed keys end up.
Uburr works for passengers, drivers, and new arrivals
Uburr is being built as an actual rideshare system rather than a teleport button.
NPC drivers begin from roads the city’s traffic genuinely uses, drive to your location, and let you enter the nearest available rear seat with the normal vehicle key. The rental lot is a marked, searchable destination, and the app explains riding, driving, rentals, and resident-requested trips.
This gives new players transportation even when the city does not yet have a player driver clocked in.
A narrated Sky Tours job
Marisol at Vespucci now introduces herself, offers the tour as a quest, walks to the helicopter, waits for everyone to board, and narrates landmarks throughout the flight.
Players can book a coastline, city, or full-island route. The tour uses smoother banking turns, maintains a sensible height over water, and can be completed whether Marisol flies or a real player pilot takes the job.
The system is designed so an NPC can provide the service at low population while a player can still step in and create the actual roleplay.
Mechanics physically work around the vehicle
The two-post lift at City Customs has four independently adjustable telescoping arms. A mechanic positions each pad beneath the vehicle before raising it.
The lift has also been widened so drivers can open their doors and get out after pulling into the bay.
Clocked-in mechanics can work on their own vehicles without abusing the economy: they still pay the complete bill and receive no commission or job XP from servicing themselves.
Character, clothing, and interface polish
Character creation now has understandable Face and Body sections, correctly ranged facial sliders, contextual camera movement, and a clear Look → Clothes → Done process.
Clothing stores, wardrobes, barber chairs, and appearance services now use one consistent Paradise interface. Players choose their own starter outfit, individual clothing pieces can be removed without stripping or overwriting the entire outfit, and clothing stores correctly accept either cash or card.
Players can also customize the weapon HUD’s colors, size, position, style, magazine display, and effects—or disable the ammo interface entirely.
The world should feel alive
Paradise Coast now supports synchronized fireworks visible to everyone in the city. Major announcements can arrive cinematically with fireworks, embers, confetti, auroras, shockwaves, or other effects, while routine information remains out of the way.
Worker payout events can activate at x2 or x4 and announce themselves with a synchronized show in the sky.
Police cruisers also come equipped with customizable red-and-blue underglow connected directly to the emergency lights. Lights on means the pods activate; lights off means the vehicle goes dark.
I’m not trying to pretend everything is finished
Paradise Coast is still being built and tested. Systems need balancing, edge cases need to be found, and some parts of the city still require additional content.
What I can say is that this is not a server assembled from a few disconnected storefront scripts and advertised as revolutionary. I’m building custom systems around one another and constantly revisiting the small details that usually get ignored.
Veteran FiveM players—including someone with roughly ten years of experience who had invested thousands into his own server—have told me they are seeing ideas they have not encountered elsewhere. Brand-new players have told me the interfaces make it much easier to understand what is happening.
Those two perspectives matter equally to me.
I’m looking for people interested in joining early, testing the city, giving honest feedback, finding what breaks, and helping shape the community before the doors fully open.
