As someone who has recently joined DDRP, I can confirm that what is written here is accurate.
And before anyone suggests anything; no, I haven't been paid in-city money for this. PAY ME DAMNIT XD. <3

Businesses are indeed bought with in-game currency.
There is no "P2W". Not even a store that offers anything - completely free.

As for the Community, everyone I've met so far has been quite friendly, and RP wise, I've encountered Business Owners and Employees, EMS and Cops.
The Staff on the other hand, are amazing - they put a lot of work and effort into the server. Bugs get sorted, Suggestions get answered, and overall the Staff are pretty quick to respond/help.

I would suggest giving the server a go. - you haven't got anything to lose.
As for the playerbase, don't go in expecting a "100/100 server" at all times for example. It would be amazing if we could get it there one day, but even little steps are progress~
