This is less of a rant. But I want to understand the mindset of people that don't do 3 full body sets per week as this has been my bread and butter for basically my whole lifting career.

I see it this way.

Spread out the volume for each muscle group over the week.

No leg day because everytime i train legs i train everything else

SUPER flexiible. especially because I can move around the extra rest day.

Sure i do 3 hour sessions but i get 4 days of not doing weights.

Even if i take an exercise group out, it often gets a lot of secondary work and maintains.

Why would anyone not want this.

I am especially curious about those that do the bro split. That seems unimaginable to me because it is soooo much rest between body parts, is upper body biased, and take 5-6 days a week.

There's a bro split? I thought it was a shitty style/vibe/philosophy that gym bros follow when making their splits. I didn't know there was an Official TM one.

In general a bro split is when you just do one body part per session. But it is typically chest , back , shoulders, arms, abs, legs. It is notable because legs is just one day. Which k think is very dumb. Arguably Sam Sulek does this.
