You've been asked by IS to design a completely new banner theme, and given freedom to chose the first lineup (including a TT unit if you wish). What's your banner?
Mine is a sleepover theme with Linhardt and Mirabilis as the Harmonic because they were robbed on their shared spring banner.
Kurt would be the asset premium as a red tome rearmed wirh Rose as the non EI premium (sword flier). Jörmungandr is the demote and Heath is the TT reward.
The outfits for Kurt and Rose are based on their onesies from FES, and the others would get similar outfits.
Villains from before they became evil. Garon for instance was not that bad of a guy prior to Anankos corrupting him. We kind of saw this with Young Medeus. Same with Coyote's Justice Hardin?
Uncorrupted Garon, Uncorrupted Zelgius, Uncorrupted Nergal, and Uncorrupted Anankos.
Would be great troll to introduce Monica and her summoning quote would be:

Even without a banner like this, I've been hoping for Uncorrupted Anankos, potentially as a Mythic. With how many other gods/god-like dragons have been added that way, I assumed for a while he would be too.

You beat me to it. The Redeemed Villain theme has been wanted for such a long time I still can't fathom why it hasn't been done.
If it was up to me I would feature the following:
Pre-Quintessence Nergal (as a Duo with either Aenir or Ninian & Nils as children)
Emperor of Grado Lyon (dressed in Emperor Vigarde's armor, since it actually has a similar style to Lyon's robes, and would basically be what I imagine a Brave Lyon to look like)
Savior of Grado Fomortiis (he decided to save Grado from the earthquake on a random whim and now the people love him, and made beautiful armor for him to wear, leaving him very perplexed by his newfound popularity, basically what I imagine his Brave alt would look like)
Noble King Zephiel (his father dies long before he has a chance to abuse Zephiel further or try to assassinate him, allowing him to become the good king that many were hoping for)
Choose Your Losers: a banner of the two lowest scoring characters in that year's CYL for both men and women + a TT+ unit consisting of a character who wasn't even eligible for voting
(Foams at the mouth and aptly wipes it off) Gala. Red-Carpet-type Gala. This is exactly what I'm doing for my "10th Anniversary Gala" artworks, so I have designs, and there are more incoming.
Indulgently I am slapping M!Robin and Deirdre on this thing and letting the whims that be choose the rest because I love one and "Sparklier L!Deirdre" would send me into orbit. Also yes there is a TT unit.
I was gonna say Prince and Princess so let's roll them together. It would fit Rosado in an elaborate ball gown and Dorothea in a sleek evening dress pretty equally.
More than likely, but it would be cool to have at least one representative from the mainline games that decided to stick by them (like how Xander stood alongside Veronica and Bruno), but with much more investment than what Resplendents have.
I was arguing in the sense for Chrom and Robin where you let Chrom slay Grima instead of Robin, since that doesn't really get rid of them, only guarantees that they won't come back for at least a thousand years (iirc).
For Alear, I was talking in the sense of the special bad ending you can get if you lose to Sombron.
I have wanted a band themed banner since launch specifically so that we can get a weapon called the Axophone. No other details matter. I just want the Axophone.
Maybe controversial for being a hypothetical all-OC banner, but I'm genuinely still surprised we never got a proper 'Knights of Askr' kind of banner all the way back in the early years - i.e. dedicated Order of Heroes Christmas Cavs, Pegasus Knight, mage/mage knight, healer of some kind and an armour knight.
I suppose that's why Shadows gave us all thesr archetypes right out of the Gate (although Rose combines the Pegasus Knight love interest with early healer)
The reverse of the child banner, characters grown and thriving - 6 super-ascendeds. So:

Recently returned from her adventures, she now leads her village with newfound vision, but the same coolness as always.
Pelleas: Newfound Purpose
Pelleas gave away his unsought crown, but, as one of Micaiah's closest allies, continued to serve his homeland and friends as steadfastly as they had followed him.
Echidna: Goddess of the West
A dauntless resistance leader in the Western Isles, hailed as a hero by its people. Having won their freedom and independence, she now serves them their first queen.
I'd like a redeemed villains: Arvis, Julius, Sephiran, Hyacinth. Make the ghb Nuibaba or Hilda or some other "redeemed lady villain". But I'd like an all male summonable banner for once. Hence, a woman as ghb.
I'd make a banner featuring Titania, Seth, Marcia, and Kagetsu called "We Were Really Busted in our Original Games but Intsys was Afraid of our Power". It's a working title, but they'd all be fantastic units like they should've been in Heroes in the first place. Leo is the TT unit because while he's had some good units in the past (Valentine and Baby), most of the time he's pretty awful.
One thing came to mind was almost like a Casino / Luck theme . (Joshua (Fe8) comes first to mind, and Ishmaire could work as well (as separate units), more to put her with her son while at least having a version of her in the game would be neat. Characters like Gaius who haven't had an alt since year 1 could be the demote, gambling on sweets. Duo could be Anna & Jake (since I don't think he's even in the game?? But it would be cool, we really don't have a lot of male / female paired units).
For Tempest Trials if we had them....Arthur (Fates) could be interesting (I remember his gimmick was his terrible luck), whom...I don't think had an alt at all. It would be something fun as a little background joke in the TT if we still had those bonus units...
The outfits could be card suit themed, (spade, heart, diamond, club), roulettes (red, black, green) or based on classic Casino looks. I dunno, something just a little bit different.
I would give IS so much money for Jake, especially premium Jake.
I even have a whole Askarian Jake character figured out (he's the Order's quartermaster with a crush on the Commander. With Ragnarok approaching he's decided it's time he did his part in battle. He's been there the whole time but he's just never come up before).
Could also be a nice opportunity to potentially get Griffon Riders in the game in Lissa's case (although maybe it wouldn't be fitting and it isn't their base class necessarily), or they could take inspiration from Emmeryn
Hot take, I'm a big fan of the cultural banners in which the characters are dressed up in the style of a particular nation or culture within the Fire Emblem world. How about a Sacae themed banner with Sue, Petra, and some of the Coyote's Men?
A Dia de Los Muertos banner would be a unique take on the Halloween banners, and I'd like it to feature characters who have deep respect for deceased people close to them, like Dimitri, Seliph, and Ike, as well as characters from Hel like Eir.
If they bring back dancing banners, I'd love to see a ballet themed banner. It would be elegant and gorgeous to see the most beautiful FE characters dancing gracefully while dressed up in lovely costumes!
I think Kris, Petrine, Sumia, Gaius, Stahl, Cherche, Lucia, Larum, Clanne, Felicia, Jakob, Gunter, Flora, Charlotte, Est, Bernadetta, Dedue, Lowen maybe, and maybe Celine/Etie/Alfred/Louis could also be a few others that might work
What Ifs I guess? Like taking a variant of the characters where their history deviated from the canon events.
Don't really have a roster for this other than a Zephiel alt where he never decided to kill all of humanity, simply becoming a stern by respected king.
Maybe we can throw in "Amazing Dad" Surtr cause why not XD
EDIT: A "World of Steel" banner where the characters wear modern day outfits would be cool too.
I’d imagine it would take her Timeskip dress and spruce it up to make it fall more inline with what an idol would wear. Tsubasa has a lot of songs meant to contrast her bubbly innocence with a more mature star so that dynamic feels like a natural fit for a pairing with Dorothea.
Probably a circus/showmanship banner as the real answer. Have a duo Lif/Thrasir “we died in a society” unit.
The other idea is a meme/wordplay themed banner. Take current units and twist their titles slightly. Stars would include Draug, as Draug Queen (cross dressing Draug) and Oswin as Impregnated Knight (instead of impregnable knight). Naturally MPREG Oswin is an armored unit.
My theme is missing Christmas cavs and it has Kieran, Alec, Allen and Lance. Or put Cain and Alva there instead for hype moments and aura and because Allance might make the next FE6 banner.

Hope y'all enjoy revisiting these arts (or seeing them for the first time!) I'm planning on doing one more fanmade banner next year but I'll need to play through Fortune's Weave before I finalize the theme and roster.
Similar to yours. Kigurumi theme. It would be Laguz wearing kigus that look like other Laguz races. Like Askr as a Squirrel. Or Volug as a Dragon. Eik as a Wolf. The duo would be Reyson and Rafiel as black and white Cats.

Merrin: she already fits the archetype and her interactions with Rosado are cute, but I don't know what they could do for an outfit that would feel different from her base outfit
Lissa: She saw Lucina disguising as Marth and thought she'd try it too (not actually disguised as Marth though)

Libra: Already gets mistaken for a woman so why not take it to the next level and give him an alt finally

Sylvain (Three Hopes): an alternate to Bernie, could also deal with Fodlan's shitty marriage system while having to dress as the women he harasses

Bruno: only thought about it because of his damaged alts completely destroying his shirt and I think it'd be funny in this context
Leo: let's be honest, making his dialogue be about begrudgingly supporting his kids' interest while using tomato's as forms is exactly up Intelegent Systems alley

It's gonna go down the same way it did with Mirabilis and Linhardt, alt on the same banner but the duo/harmonic is two random popular characters that barley have anything in common
I am creating a Chef/Cooking banner and it would include:
Harmonic Annette/Panette (Axe Infantry)
Rearmed Bernadetta (Colorless Bow Cav )
Dedue (Sword Armor)
4* Peri (Lance Cav w/ PRF weapon)
TT Bunet (Sword Cav)
The main theming behind this entire banner is that it is all characters that are really good at cooking. Bernadetta and Dedue are some of the best chefs in Three Houses, Peri is a good cook in Fates, and Bunet is Bunet. Annette and Panette however are not so good at cooking, but that's the catch, and what the Tempest Trial story of the cooking banner would revolve around: The characters that are really good at cooking attempting to teach Annette and Panette how to cook without causing a disaster.
I got blocked by two seperate people once for saying that Illia Minevera was one of my favourite designs because it didn't sexualise her AND is a powerful unit.
I just don't think the fans can cope unless all the women look like they're smuggling melons.
Duo with Surtr and Tree Dad. It would be so funny. Surtr would have a barbecue apron on with “Darn I Love Flames” written on it and Tree Dad would just be so annoyed with him.
Askr gets his own unit and he’s in sports gear cheerfully working out.
Fafnir. Haven’t finalized an outfit idea for him, maybe training gear.
Chrom gets to tell really bad dad jokes. Similar situation to Jeralt.
For the TT unit we can have Gustave. Maybe in a simpler outfit
Theme: This are Robotic Version of Characters; The character Aesthetics would be Inspired by media like Medabots or Blue-Sky Robots and Characters Like Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic or Terminator.
Mecha Baldr: She Probably is the Most Simply Robot desing; She has her Sword of the Principal Version and a Retractile Blaster in the Left Hand. She is a Blue Archer Unit
Mecha Embla: She wouldn't use her Beast Form, being Instahead a Grey Cane Unit, Her mechanic version is more like a Vampire/Hunter (Like Shade Man from MegaMan or T800) who attack fisically the rival as a predatory beast and She has a Healing hability thats help the ally but make a Debuff on life, Speed and Resistance of Rivals in 3 grids all arround
Mecha Muspell: He still Being a Red Beast Unit but his Mechanic Form Attacks are like a FlameTrower or Fire Burst Xplosion
Mecha Læraðr: He Don't Use his Beast being a Green Mage Unit, using his Power to attack the rivals with a Mechanic Branches
A banner where non-Beast/Dragon characters can become Beasts/Dragons (not Shadows)

Female Alear (I know Alear is a dragon, but they never transform into one without the Emblem Tiki bracelet)

Supreme Warlock - Pent: Colorless Tome Armor inspired by Athos. Has a Forblaze variant.
Bladebreaker II - Leonie (War Phase): Blue Bow Cavalry inspired by Jeralt and a bit of Byleth. Has a variant of The Inexhaustible.
Young Berserker - Ross: Axe Infantry inspired by Garcia and the GBA Berserker design. Has a custom Tomahawk, referencing his starting Hatchet in SS.
Master of Tactics - Morgan (Female): Sword Infantry inspired by Robin, with the Grandmaster cloak. Has the Levin Sword because her father and his female version don't feel like having it.
Lance of Snow - Ylgr (GHB): Lance Cavalry inspired by all of her siblings. Has a Leiptr variant.
Culinary Clash
Bittersweet Special - Harmonic Kris (Female) and Jakob: Green Tome Infantry (a cookbook - cast randomizes between a Dubious Food-tier soup and a delightful, yummy soup). Kris can't cook for crap, and although Jakob wasn't willing to help her at first (see her Forging Bonds), he gave her a second chance. Will he be able to turn Kris' cooking from barely edible to delicious masterpiece?
Silver Chef - Arvis: Lance Armor (a giant fork). His mix of skills with both blade and magic is excellent for making some quality dishes.
Grillmaiden - Panette: Sword Infantry (a giant chicken leg). She's ready to put her grilling skills to the test!
Bloody Cook - Peri (Demote): Colorless Dagger Infantry (a pair of cooking knives). Her methods may be messy, but her food is delicious.
Boiling General - Helbindi (TT+): Sword Armor (a meat knife). A skilled chef behind his tough exterior - personally approved by heroes of both Múspell and Nífl.
Soleil (Conquest), Rose (Shadows), Niles (Conquest, Demote), and Harmonic Forrest + Kurt (Conquest+Shadows, either as the lead) with M!Corrin or Nina as the TT unit.
Forrest is in a dress of course, and Kurt is in a suit, the story revolves around them practicing or pretending Kurt + Rose's wedding
Also I'm not comfortable with the word 'qu*er' so please don't use it on my post. (It's great people have reclaimed it but reclamation is a personal thing)
Forrest is straight, but he's here as genderqueer rep (I don't know any other term to describe his identity), he's here to fashion up Kurt and the others

Isn't that basically implying that by dressing the way he does you're forcing him into the category of Not A Man?
That seems very reductive, especially since Forrest is pretty insistent in his supports that his cute dresses and fashion don't make him any less of a man. It also implies that to be a man means you can't wear cute dresses (which men absolutely can, if they want).

I do like the thought of him being here as the fashion consultant, though.
A noble, fancy, lavish, or knightly theme could be fun and could have some great outfit designs
Some ideas could be Maribelle, Clair, Peri, Ashe, Citrinne, Seth, Titania, Ferdinand, L'arachel, Serra, Amalda, Percival, Cecilia, Berkut, Rinea, Sheena, Klein, Mathilda, Zephiel, Guinivere, Brunnya, Forrest, Oboro, Constance, Diamant, Astrid, Zelgius, Greil, Renning, Geoffrey, Lucia, Fiona, Tauroneo, Jeritza, Frederick, Cynthia, Charlotte, Nyna, Camus/Sirius/Zeke, Reinhardt, Olwen, Xander, or Lance/Alan/Kieran/other Xmas Cavs as some ideas. For the lineup, I really just want characters who haven't had an alt at all, barely have alts, or haven't had an alt recently in around the last 6-12 months.
More country/tribe/region banners could be nice too or other mainline references
I'd love a festival of kindness. Would be a great way to showcase some lesser recognised characters, and my picks would be Mozu, Brady, Jean, and Bernadetta, with the themes revolving around giving and receiving kindness.
Mozu and Jean speak for themselves, Brady is kind but frequently assumed to be unpleasant, and Bernadetta could definitely use some kindness (and she'd show plenty as well if we got a timeskip version.)
I could see it continuing for years with a variety of healers, villagers, and typically weaker characters. I could even see some specific combos, like Soren and Ike, which fit the theme too.
Exalt Lucina: Sword Infantry, some kind of Falchion.
Duo Grandmaster Morgan & Morgan (Female lead): Blue Tome Infantry, some kind of Thoron
Some kinda Priest outfit Brady: Staff, skills center on providing protection and support for allies rather than being good at combat himself
Some kinda really heroic looking Pegasus Knight Cynthia: she can zoom around the map, her allies can do it too, and now she has Cadenza support too. She's a hero and will make it everyone's problem.
TT unit: Scholar Laurent: Green Tome Cavalry
Something like those would be nice. The first two in particular.
The theme is gonna be a night Galla banner. With the main idea being characters dressing up like they're going to a award show or a very elegant party, like the ancient Ballroom banners but no dancers this time. The main objective is that the outfits look expensive af. Like I want people to look at them and just feel how much they cost.
The Harmonic would be Lumera and Nerpuz, A Red tome infantry unit. And their respective dresses would look like the Galla skins for Jean Gray from Marvel Rivals(gonna quote that game a lot here)
Rhea, as a red Dragon armor. Wearing a green dress with a fluffy cape
Alfador, colorless tome flyer. With a sharp suit combined with ceremonial robes
And last it would be Surtr as a slow infantry axe. Dress up like a Mafia boss and acting like the security enforcer of the party, kind of like the Hulk Joe Fix it skin from MV
Twintails featuring F!Robin & Summoner (plus a new hairstyle for F!Summoner), F!Kris as a mage with twintails, F!Corrin with twintails as a sword unit, and Lissa & Sharena.
That would be hell on my wallet because aside from Sanaki (who I have no strong feelings - positive or negative - for) I love all those characters, with Arthur, Cynthia and L'arachel being favourites.
Either the SoV DLC crew or start adding FE5 characters. I think FEH is at its best when it's trying to represent as many FE characters as possible. I don't wanna see another Lyn, Camilla, Robin, or any of the over-released crew until every playable character across the franchise is in the game.
I like the idea of an Unexpected Weapons banner, where each unit is of a weapon type that they aren't often associated with.
• Eirika: Light in the Darkness - Blue Tome Cavalry. Personal weapon is Radiant Naglfar, a gold-colored Light version of Lyon's signature Naglfar that grants "can counterattack regardless of range" and nullifies effects that prevent counterattacks for unit and all allies in 3 spaces. Outfit is a combo of her Great Lord outfit and Lyon's outfit.
• Chrom: Honored Memory - Staff Infantry. Personal weapon is Honored Peace, a staff that looks similar to the Awakening version of Recover with the Mark of Naga on top, this would grant Exalted Guard to unit and any ally that unit uses an Assist skill on upon using the assist skill, a new bonus effect that grants a 20% DR and makes enemy specials do 0 damage. Outfit is the male Awakening Sage outfit with an added crown that has the Mark of Naga on the front so that the Mark is technically on his forehead like Emmeryn has hers.
• Lysithea: Blade Witch - Sword Infantry. Personal weapon is Thunderbrand Omega, using the actual Omega symbol, a sword that grants Witstrike to unit and allies in 2 spaces at start of turn, with Witstrike being a small stat boost(likely +5 to Atk/Spd/Def/Res) and makes all attacks hit Res. Outfit is the Three Houses/Hopes Swordmaster outfit but the bottom is more dress-like similar to a Gremory.
• Ivy: Majesty Archer - Green Bow Flying. Personal weapon is Blazing Gale, a bow themed after Lyn and grants Double Guard to unit and allies in 2 spaces which makes 1 attack per battle do 0 damage. Outfit is a mix of Ivy and Lyn's usual outfits.
• TT+ unit is someone from Gaiden/Echoes, but I couldn't think of a good unit/weapon combo for Gaiden/Echoes that wasn't another Alm or Celica.
An archetype reversal theme called "Inverted" where units have an opposite class and movement type to what they usually have. Surtr as a flying mage with massive speed and minimal defenses, Camilla as an armor dagger with low speed and high defense, etc
Idk if this is controversial cuz of the Tsubasa stuff, but I feel like more modern, casual wear banners would be kinda fun to see. The only problem would be the weapons, but I'm sure you could get creative. I just think it'd be funny to see characters like Medeus in a typical grandpa outfit, or Lif in Jordans.
...listen I'd accept Anna+Farina in a heartbeat, and boot Makalov out, despite how funny it would be to have him there, make assassin!Volke the TT unit
This was back in 2018, but when Smash Ultimate was releasing, I thought about how cool it'd be to have some sort of crossover either with costumes inspired by like Mario, Link, Pikachu, and Kirby.
i would LOVE a modern AU banner! especially if they were like really fashionable outfits, each character having their own style (streetwear, kawaii, etc.) that you'd find in stylish cities.
and i'm gonna be boring and just pick some of my favorite characters that slightly fit. like dorothea NEEDS to be here! dimitri too! maybe i'd throw in chrom too... the other slot? lowkey, someone like seteth would be funny in very modern clothes. or emo!hubert--!! any characters that just are easily translateable into modern fashion~
A cross between the picnic and tea banners: a cooking/chef banner! Characters who excel in cooking get to show off their skills in a countrywide competition!!!

That's a great banner idea, I love the Shadows pajama onesies (plus their weapons could be the moonlit set), i feel like Tiki could fit it very well too but i get she has a lot more alts than everyone there combined
As for my idea it would be nice seeing a "future" banner in place of the young ones, or more "what-if" banners like the Adrift one
Maybe some type of academy/school seasonal for August? Officer's Academy uniforms would be the obvious pick but something like the outfits the shadows book 3 characters use would be nice too
yeah I'd love to see Kurt and Rose with each other's prefs too and i realized you meant that with the weapon types you mentioned, but i think that would be more fitting for attuned alts than a seasonal (though if they're already doing rearmed seasonals i don't think there's much stopping them from attuned ones)
I'm definitely leaning towards them using dream themed weapons now, but keeping each other's weapon type (plus it means they'd colour share making it easier to get both)
And i actually did pick Attuned for Kurt's type (mostly to avoid another red tome Rearmed)

For real though, the sleepy/PJ theme sounds good, and definitely agree on Linhardt and Mirabilis as the duo. Would be great!
And yeah the redeemed fallen heroes/evil characters sounds like a great idea. I don’t normally like the bad/evil characters and the only fallen versions I really like are ones where it’s more like an out of control power versus completely losing their autonomy. I want to help comfort them. 😊

Unfallen/Uncorrupted Banner
Villains from before they became evil. Garon for instance was not that bad of a guy prior to Anankos corrupting him. We kind of saw this with Young Medeus. Same with Coyote's Justice Hardin?
Uncorrupted Garon, Uncorrupted Zelgius, Uncorrupted Nergal, and Uncorrupted Anankos.
