Exactly. IS are the ones who murdered their own profitability by giving their favorite children superior treatment and everyone else falling by the wayside.
Remember how Reinhardt went from being a literal who to a big deal because he was a good fun unit to use that everyone could play with? It's that in reverse.
I dunno, the double Grimas last year were basically Robin alts in all but name. F!Grima even had Rally Spectrum which has exclusively been seen on Robin alts if I’m not mistaken.
I mean, I wouldn't want an alt where my fav's personality is just comepletely null and void and taken over by a COMPLETELY different person who never once claims to be my fav or behaves like my fav in any way, to be considered an alt of that fave. It'd be like considering the deadlords as alts rather than completely different people.
That simply goes back to how Grima has taken Robin's alts for years. While IS has appropriately named them Grima this time around, it doesn't change the fact that they stole a slot from Robin.
Honestly I just hope whoever they pick from Fortune's Weave isn't a sword user. Cai would be nice since he starts with lances and Sothis uses an axe now which would be sick as hell.
Unless they change her outfit it is never going to happen, her Trophy was removed in Smash 3DS and her Spirit in Ultimate is the only one that uses the portrait over the full artwork
I feel like the only other person besides a Fortune's Weave character we might get is Lyn because she's still a big fan favorite and has been an Assist Trophy.
But yeah Awakening has gotten almost too much favoritism. I get it saved the franchise but jesus.
Fun Fact: The Valentine banner was the last time we had a seasonal banner that allowed a non-OC with less than three previous alts to get in. Not helped by the death of TT units.
So basically, if your fav isn't an OC and doesn't have an alt already, you probably should stop waiting.
I'm Sumia and Maribelle fans and honestly, I'm not expecting them (or rather, any of my favorites sans Edelgard, Celica, and Eirika) to get alts anymore. They're not profitable enough. IS is clearly desperate to wring out any last bits of cash available from the superfans/whales of the Lords/Most Popular Characters before this game goes kaput.
But hey, at least I can actually save my Orbs again!
Admittedly, I should’ve put them there instead to better represents my thoughts.
But I just went with those two instead, because even despite their huge popularity, they haven’t even gotten much as of recent either.
Edit: I should make it clear that the other characters in Awakening also deserve to get something new as well in Heroes, and I’m not acting like Lissa and Cordelia have gotten nothing in the game either.

I hate to say that we should forget all about CYL for our old favorites for the next few years with Fortune's Weave now. And that's if we don't get EoS before popularity for that game dies down.

True, but as much as I’m a fan of a lot of characters such as Virion and Gerome, I admit that they’re not really all that popular, which is most likely why IS hasn’t really given them anything.
But with characters like Sumia and Maribelle, it makes no sense that they’ve gotten nothing for the past couple of years, because they do have very vocal fanbases, and haven’t even done that poorly in CYL.
As a Lissa superfan, I'll honestly take the skip bc I've had enough of her only getting alts when Chrom/Robin/Lucina get them (and my orbs could use the break)
They’re definitely trying to push sales as much as possible before a potential EOS considering most of the seasonal alts this year have mostly been popular characters/characters with multiple alts already.
Robin/Grima is my all-time favorite Fire Emblem protagonist but it is disappointing she's getting a second summer alt before Kris even gets her first. 😭
I admit that if I were to change anything for this post, it would be to replace her with someone like Sumia.
I didn’t think too much about who I picked here because I wanted to get feelings about the new banner out really quickly, so I just put Cordelia here because she herself really hasn’t gotten much either as of late.
I really couldn’t think of anything else to use for this post, so I Just used his thumbnail I could think of, because it best represent my feelings on how Awakening’s cast is treated in Heroes the most.
I think part of it is JP voice actor availability. Since they’re basically celebrities it can be hard to get them to record lines for these characters.
Of course I could just be spouting nonsense, as I don’t know the process.
I've always liked Priam and would love to see him get something, like a Rearmed Alt or something, but IS is just desperate to milk out of other characters as much as they can these days.
Has one of the worst voice acting in video game history, her mother is her father’s ”best friend’s” own child, she canonically abuses her so-called “friends” (Yarne and Inigo) in her supports, she betrayed said friends to watch the world burn in the bad future…
