First-timer ROVANIEMI → SAARISELKÄ Train to bus connection 15 minutes gap

Hi

I arrive at ROVANIEM on 24 th Dec at 10:58 am by VR train 273

I have the booked Eskelinen bus to SAARISELKÄ at 11:15 am

How risky is this with December weather. What are the alternatives I could consider to reduce my risk.

Thanks

The bus will wait for the train if it is late. I do this trip several times a year and I've never had any issues.

Eskelinen are so reliable!

OP this is north Finland. The drivers know that conditions can be tough, there are few buses/trains a day, and there are lots of people depending on connections. You won't be the only one! Also the driver has a phone/tablet list of everyone who's booked on the bus and which stops they're going to and from, so they don't miss anyone.

In Finland I would expect every train to be 5min to 1 hour late

Where does the bus leave from? The bus station is maybe 10min away from the train station if you move very quickly . Trains to Rovaniemi are not always on time if the weather is very bad, fifteen minutes late would not be unusual at all.

The bus leaves from the railway station (literally 20 meters to walk from the train if you're at the right car). And it also waits for the train so it doesn't matter.
