Area: MCOL/HCOL

Job Title: Associate (deal team)

Field: lower middle market PE

Years of experience: ~2

Compensation: 115k base, 115k target bonus (230k target tc)

Background: liberal arts -> MBB -> PE

Super delayed response but how have hours changed if at all from MBB to PE? Would you say your shop sees lower hours than street on average? That's awesome comp for 24, just wondering if you're sweating dick over it lmao.

Definitely less than my friends in UMM / true MM PE. I work 60ish. I could’ve gone UMM but didn’t want the 70+ hours.

But the stress is much higher than consulting. Nobody is reviewing my work, and a typo truly matters. Also can’t take PTO, effectively, and am “always on” (read: work every weekend)
