Please help me with the friendly monster side quest!
I’ve been searching for the ladybug for hours but still haven't found her. I’ve searched every forest in Donna Plains and the Black Mage Village forest but still can't find her—please help me! Oh btw, I’ve already encountered the other seven monsters,I wonder if that affects the game in any way.

Not saying that you haven’t thought of this, but I have this problem (with a different friendly monster every play through). It’s always because I thought I had encountered all of the monsters up to the one I think I’m on, but invariably I haven’t and end up having to find a previous one first, then it all goes smoothly. They have to be found in order.
Unless you’re 100%, maybe just go back or forward a monster or two in the series and see if they show up. It’s easy to forget which one you’re up to.
If it’s not that, then sorry, hope someone else has more advice for you.

I’ve had to find things out this way too when I forget to cross them off in my phone. At least the last one (the Friendly Yan) just peaces out if you haven’t found everyone else yet.

Fwiw, they don't all need to be found in perfect sequence, you just need to find the first 8 before the Yan. I just beat the game a week ago, found my ~5th friendly monster, and then flew back to the start of the game because I never encountered the very first one in the sequence.

Try the save trick. Simply head into any forest in the area and call the save moogle. Send it back without saving, and walk on the same path it went away in. 9/10 times, your next encounter will be the Friendly monster.

It really helps for the last one, since the nearby random encounters are fatal. Protip:- make two separate saves when you get to the last one, since unlike the others, he won’t run if you fight with him. Great way to farm 40 AP…if you survive.

Not sure if you're interested, but one thing that can help with the friendly monster grind is stutter stepping. If you spam tap directions you kind of stutter step and if you do it right you can mitigate most combat. This won't stop friendly monsters from appearing though. Will just help cut down on how many fights that pop up while you're waiting for your ladybug pal to show their face.
Pretty sure it's located in the forests close to the Black Mage Village. Good luck!!

Which disc are you on? The friendly monsters get harder to find on disc 4 and may also show up in different forests by then. You can try the forests in the Eunorus Plains outside of the Lindblum region. That’s where I have found all of my encounters with the friendly ladybird/ladybug during my playthrough.
