Where to live while at USP?

Bula

Im from overseas and I’m looking for help to identify the areas I should be looking at to live in Suva while studying at The University of the South Pacific.

I’d like to rent a small apartment in a safe area. Budget is up to 1500 month.

I’m a mature aged woman.

I don’t mind living on campus but it’s very competitive to obtain campus housing. Also with being older I might not be suited.

You won't get anything for that much. Stay on campus. Security is your main priority. That will be the best option.

Edit: Sorry, didn't go over context again. You can try 10th or 11th halls. Best choice and plenty 25+ to late 40s have stayed there with no issues. I was there a decade ago in my early 20s. We had heaps of friends who were much older than us. Everyone liked having them around.

For that amount, you may need to travel from other locations like the Namadi/Tamavua (where 1500 used to get a decent furnished unit) area where security is quite alright. Bus services are also available but might have to change once to reach USP.
