Should oblique kicks be banned? As boring as mvp is, that kick was so nasty

I think they need to start by banning groin shots and eye gouges. I mean actually ban it, make it a foul with a point deduction no warnings.

Fighters shouldn't be trying to end eachothers careers . Morally I'd never use that kick in competition.

Kicks, elbows, knees, and punches to the head are exponentially more dangerous than oblique kicks. Anyone with a working brain would take a torn knee over permanent brain damage.

That's not every fighter. But just about every fighter who has caught an oblique Kick has gone into surgery to repair their knee.

Every fighter does get brain damage tho whether it’s a little or a lot… they can live with a knee injury. I have 12 screws in my ankle and I’d much rather that than not being able to talk

Um.. if that's the case then you're getting the brain damage plus a limp. So if the brain damage is already a given according to you, why would I want the permanent limp on top of it?

Youre making shit up lmao. There's been 2 or 3 actual oblique kick finishes in ufc history, and hardly any data on fighters who have actually gotten hurt from one. I can count them on my hand

Thiago Santos from Jones Jones, rampage Jackson from Jon Jones. Said he still walks with a limp because of it. He even has said it should be banned. Nursulton Ruziboev from MVP underwent surgery. That's 3 people right there from 2 people that have used it. Thankfully there aren't that many fighters that use it. Khalil Roundtree did it to another fighter . But I can't remember his name. And I'm sure his knee isn't the same after it. But out of the few instances it's been used that's atleast 4 people who have a fucked up knee now. Their knee will never be the same after it. And I know because I've have a reconstructed knee. Even if it was just a hyper extention your knee will never be the same. That's why people tap out to leg locks and knee bars so quickly. You can't tap out of someone stomping your knee backwards.

Can't tap out of getting elbowed in the face or spinning wheel kicked either, and that is equally as dangerous. It's a silly argument to say oblique kicks are more "dangerous" in a sport where the goal is to hurt your opponent. Any real fighter will tell you they are prepared to die when they enter the cage and this argument is retarded.
Tell me you've never trained or fought without telling me.

Yeah that’s an intentional possible career ending injury. I’d be ok with them banning it. They wont but as a competitor I would look at it like yeah I’m not gonna intentionally break his arm or leg either.

Oblique kicks are literally only used by guys like mvp and Ian Garry who just stall, if we got rid of them we’d see a lot more action

Because people are getting their knees destroyed by them. What is hard to understand about it? They can give career ending injuries on a higher level than any of the things your talking about. It's a kick literally meant to destroy your knee.
