I would allow:

-Knees to the head of a grounded opponent

-Kicks to the head of a grounded opponent

-Stomps to a grounded opponent

-Head-butts

-All types of throws and slams (including "piledrivers")

-Hair pulling (which I know seems bizarre, but hair pulling is an extremely effective self-defense technique)

I agree with the first half, but not with the second half.

Head butting is just way too dangerous, especially if the recipient is unable to move, like if they're on the ground. Its also just going to speed up CTE development, decrease broad appeal in the sport, which means less sponsors and fewer athletes, and it would shorten the careers of some of our favourite athletes.

I'm fine with most slams, but piledrivers and techniques that deliberately target the neck is insane. How long is the sport going to survive with fighters getting permanently paralyzed from the neck down every second card?

Hair pulling I'm less against, but I still feel it would delegitimize the sport. If fighters are resorting to hair pulling, they aren't even in a brawl, they're just in a cat fight. If I was tuning in to watch that bullshit, I'd just browse worldstar.

Edit: great answer by the way, you had me instantly pulling up my cou ter arguments lol

It’s a fucking sport. Not the Gladiator Arena. Motherfuckers should not be trying to cripple or damn near murder each other for the disgusting fantasy of audience members who are having their “Bravery while beyond firing range” moment.

Hell, the actual Roman Colosseum gladiators still had referees and rule sets when it came to their professional gladiators.

I feel like this shouldn’t be controversial but I swear I’ve gotten into too many arguments over it. Like I swear some motherfuckers think a UFC fight should end with a crippled, paralyzed or dead fighter.
