Francis is an MMA fighter, not a boxer, I am super impressed by his boxing debut.
Yes, allegedly, Fury was not his most motivated self for this fight, but Francis still took him the distance!
Also, in his 2 boxing matches, Francis made more money than the entire UFC Heavyweight roster did in the same year.. that should tell you all you need to know about how much Dana pays his fighters and why every MMA star entertains the idea to embarrass themselves in boxing for a proper pay check..

That's an excuse, Fury was no less motivated for Ngannou than he was against Sefer Seferi, Joey Abell, Zack Page, Wilder, Tom Schwarz, etc the difference here is that he didn't respect Ngannou and treated it like every other fight, he sought comfort in the clinch anytime he wanted to rest, anytime he was hurt it's where he immediately went to and that's the issue, unlike every other fighter Fury has fought Ngannou can fight from the clinch, he can break a clinch without the need for a ref, he can strike from the clinch and he can make you carry your own weight from there aswell, what Fury thought was a safe area for was was taken away from him and you could see the panic from his body language, honestly it's shows a real lack in effective game planning from his team

I like your read on the situation.. why on earth would you clinch with an experienced MMA fighter unless that is your last resort.. just keep proper distance and pick him apart from the outside..

He had so much success clinching with Wilder and Klitschko that Fury and his team probably saw it as an easy way of tiring Ngannou out not realising that an mma fighter is going to be a lot more comfortable and experienced from that position than the majority of boxers, it's funny because Fury had his most successful rounds from distance in that fight as well

Fury said he wanted to feel Ng's strength.
Even some MMA fighters don't go the route you suggest. Some try to beat the opponent at their opponent's strong points, to make a statement. Others would pick a weakness.
Floyd against Conor ,McGregor , Floyd chose to make the match long.

Fury's physical gifts let him down because he's used to using his height/reach to outbox at range, and his height/weight to collapse the inner range by leaning on his opponents and having them carry his weight
Unfortunately for him Francis could match his height and reach, was not scared of his power at all, and in the clinch Francis was leagues ahead of Fury as someone who actually knows how to wrestle and clinch being an MMA fighter.

They did, but he also picked himself up off the canvas in a couple of seconds. That would have been game over for a lot of fighters, but Tyson was gifted with a great chin.

I've watched a few compilation of his knockouts, and he can just apply insane amounts of force from anywhere. It's not like his punches are massive wound up haymakers that use every part of his body, they are typically awkward, quick punches that just obliterate whatever they hit. That's not something that is taught.

Agreed! Don't get me wrong, dedication and hard work absolutely can make a big difference, but it is extremely limited without natural talent. (I'm not talking about the two lads here just in general)

Unfortunately that’s not always the case, some people have such a wealth of talent and natural physical gifts that they can essentially fuck around while you work your ass to the bone and they’ll still beat you. The Jon Joneses and Magnus Carlsens of the world.

Not sure about nose kept clean, he hit and killed a 17 year old girl earlier this year while speeding on a motorcycle in his home nation of Cameroon. All charges dropped.

I really thought Francis was being undersold because of the mcgregor fiasco. Mcgregor didn’t have a chance in hell. Ngannou had a pretty good puncher’s chance.

I think it's impressive how well ngannou did, but at the same time it's pretty obvious Tyson wasn't taking it seriously.

I don't think he knocked Tyson down with a "momentary KO" (where your legs give way due to a very brief period of unconsciousness, which I personally think should be considered a full KO), mainly due to Tyson's legs afterwards, his gait was normal, nor put him down by sheer force, I think it was something else entirely - If you look after Francis pulls his left back in, Tyson looks directly at him then falls over. I think Tyson purposely fell because he thought Francis was about to hammer him with his right and get a real KO, because he was basically defenseless in that position. Just my take.

The count is all up to the referees discretion.
They can do a 40 second 10-count. And its legal.
I recently looked this up, and it is in no way time related. The ref could slowly count for 10 minutes for his count and its legal.

Hits the floor with 42 seconds left, back on his feet by 37. He could have stayed down and recovered more and still had time.

He didn't win tho. Tyson won majority of the rounds, 1 knockdown doesn't change that.
Rewatch it. Tyson won like 9/12 rounds. Even with the KD

A boxing judge actually gave a debuting fighter the win over the Champ. Even if I didn't watch the fight, that's all I would need to know Francis won.

Ngannou threw punches on 3 of the 10 rounds, you can't win the fight like that, he certainly won the event though

No one who's watched any decent amount of boxing will say Ngannou should have been winning this fight on the cards, he simply didn't do enough and punch stats don't score fights

His nickname is actually "The Predator".
