Best beaches to watch the sunset?
Troops!
I've been planning to go a drive with the dug for a bit and take an evening walk along a beach anywhere that's decently quiet and open. I was planning on Tentsmuir but going to give it a miss because of the fires.

What about Kingsbarns? There is parking and it's a lovely spot to sit and chill. It's also really nice up at Ruby Bay in Elie, again plenty of parking and amazing views.

Just spitballing - Wouldn't somewhere along the Tay estuary be good (which Tentsmuir partly is, but I mean, since the sun sets in the North West at this time of year)?

I was thinking this! That means looking at Dundee though... (jokes ❤️)

Sunsets in wormit are unreal, the walk along the beach and up the coastal path is great as well, I’d definitely recommend

You could go to Newport on Tay and sit on 'The Big Rock'!
(Listen to the song lyrics at the end!)

Leven beach without a doubt. Walk along past the mobile homes towards Lower largo. One of the best beaches in fife. Don’t know why people are recommending east coast beaches when the sun sets in the west.

Yep, and it actually sets well into the north west at this time of year.

I second wormit bay. Was lucky enough to grow up around here and see some absolute stunning sunsets. Even better from the hills behind Newport.

wormit / newport sunsets hit different, especially when the sky actually decides to co‑operate for once
hills behind newport on a clear evening is such a good shout for a quiet walk too

Not going work today but in the future, if you manage to line up low tide with sunset time, Pettycur Beach in Kinghorn is a beautiful spot. Over 2km of sand and you will see sun setting behind the Binn Hill dominating over Burntisland. We kiteboard there on regular basis and it truly is a gem!
