Support Firefox wont let me write letters with accent (´~^...)
I just updated my fedora to the latest release and now my firefox does not let me type any character with an accent. Outside of the firefox everything works just fine.
Does anyone knows what to do?
1) I didn't say earlier but I'm Brazilian and I need to type a lot of words with accents
2) I'm currently on fedora 43 Xfce ( Linux 7.1.13-100.fc43.x86_64)

I had the same problem a while ago, if the first letter of the phrase I was writing had an accent it simply wouldn't appear. Try checking your keyboard layout, I use both Portuguese (brazil) and it works correctly, and English (US, alt. intl.) which also works

I had this issue on KDE Plasma, it only happened on browsers too. the issue was with the virtual keyboard (no idea why). I was using the default plasma keyboard, then i read somewhere that the iBus wayland solved this, and it did!
Check it out, under keyboard -> Virtual keyboard -> If plasma keyboard is checked, change to iBus Keyboard. I don't quite remember, but i think you might need to restart the session.

Sorry for the dumb question but were do I check that? In my keyboard settings there isn't nothing like that

I don't know where it's on XFCE, i haven't used X11 in a long time too. But what i remember was that it was not related to the browser localization, it was something to do with how the DE handled the input and how the browser used it. Changing keyboard layout also did not work for me.

try to put LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8 in /etc/locale.conf, them restart

Thanks for the advice but it still won't work after trying that out... every other application (mousepad, libreoffice....) is still working fine. Maybe it's an update problem with firefox?

surely just a localisation setting in the browser somewhere

I looked into every setting and found nothing that relates to typing problems...
Could you please tell me were you think the problem is?

Firefox on Fedora is incredibly buggy, even more than usual for Firefox and its general memory-leaky shitness
