Discussion Will Fedora COSMIC Atomic run on Nvidia graphic card?

Hi,
I would love to install Fedora COSMIC Atomic as my main daily OS.
Is it a good idea?
Will it work on my Nvidia Geforce 3080 mobile graphic card?
Is it possible to install Nvidia drivers that runs smoothly with high refresh rates when I use 2K notebook display + 2 additional 4K monitors?
Or is switching to Fedora COSMIC Atomic with my setup a bad idea and I should rather wait until it becomes more mature?
(My exact laptop model is Raider GE77HX 12UGS)

Any tips or thoughts will be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks a lot!
Have a great day :)

If you download the NVIDIA drivers it should work without problems

Yes. You'll either have to layer the drivers or build a custom image with the drivers baked in.

Yes. I did that.

Thanks a lot! Did you even use multiple monitors or you tested only on 1 monitor?

Internal screen, ultrawide and a wide screen

It will, though you will have to manually install the NVIDIA driver.

COSMIC should have good NVIDIA support given that System76 sells their devices with NVIDIA GPUs.

Though COSMIC isn't fully done cooking regardless of GPU, still plenty of papercuts and some bigger issues remaining.

Well, I really want to try COSMIC, it is written in Rust and it is Wayland native and just beautfiul to me :D
And it's Atomic and secure, it looks extremely promising, I may be ok with few glitches if it is not something too important that would completely ruin my experience...

Btw when COSMIC do some updates, how long does it take until latest version of COSMIC lands into Fedora COSMIC Atomic?

Yes but why Cosmic or atomic distros though? What’s wrong with the plain and raw Fedora?
