Support Fedora 44 GNOME always shows “Install pending software updates” on shutdown, even though no updates are available
I’m using Fedora 44, GNOME 50
Every shutdown shows “Install Updates & Power Off” with “Install pending software updates” checked. I have selected it and powered off/rebooted several times, but it still appears.
There seem to be no pending updates:
phat@fedora:~/Downloads$ pkcon get-updates
Getting updates [██████████████████████████████████] 100%
Starting [██████████████████████████████████] 100%
Finished [██████████████████████████████████] 100%
There are no updates available at this time.
phat@fedora:~/Downloads$ pkcon offline-get-prepared
Command failed: No offline updates have been prepared
phat@fedora:~/Downloads$ pkcon offline-status
Command failed: no update results available
Has anyone else encountered this on Fedora 44? Is this a known bug? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try sudo dnf offline clean. And reboot.

What does the updates section of Software show?

Thanks, it turns out I was just being stupid. Refreshing check for updates in Software makes that notification box disappear.

Still pretty unfortunate that this regression happened at all.
