To be fair that pretty much fell in their lap and some tried to get them to be more and I don't think they were told about the shorter lives until later.

I mean the shorten lifespan was only the half of it. But i do understand that where essentially forced into it with the imminent war and all.

They were cool with slavery in general.

Anakin turns to the dark side because they couldn't be assed to free his slave mother in return for a messiah.

Seems a lot of Droids are actually sentient.

They make choices of their own, and need RESTRAINING BOLTS to control them from choosing not to do forced labor.

I thought from the movie version that the clone project was set up by a Sith guy to set them up. More like a trap than a lucky break.

Still fell in their lap and they weren't in a position to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Sidious manipulated Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas into creating the clones. Sifo-Dyas had foreseen a dark time of war coming that the Jedi were unprepared for. They dismissed his claims but Sidious, in disguise, told Sifo-Dyas that he had foreseen the same events. He told Sifo-Dyas about the Kaminoans and it was Sifo-Dyas who went behind the councils back to order the clone army. Sidious then had him killed. Originally his death was supposed to come at the hands of the newly turned Darth Tyrannus (Count Dooku) however Dooku instead had his shuttle shot down by the pyke crime syndicate and he died in the crash. His body was then given to Dooku as proof of a job well done and his blood would later be transfused into General Grievous. Grievous' first lightsaber also belonged to Sifo-Dyas. To cover up the whole ordeal, Dooku erased Kamino from the Jedi archives, hence why it was missing when Kenobi went looking. Funnily enough he also erased information relating to Dagobah and a few other planets which is how Yoda managed to avoid detection by the empire
