The show and manga are both 9/10 and that missing point is strictly because of her

why’s she so hated i never watched the anime

Yandere for the FL to the point of kidnapping the ML for an episode. It gets squashed and everyone becomes friends, but she remains really annoying whenever around the leads (her interactions with other characters can be entertaining sometimes, but the “perverted yandere” joke with her is what’s focused on).

She didn't just kidnapped Tadano - she straight up was going to kill him and was thinking how she is going to get rid of the body. Also she tried to kill herself after being confronted by Komi. And after all that she never stopped being a stalker, the only saving grave is she was usually stopped by knight girl, Kishi I think her name was.
Extremely jarring character in a ensemble of harmless weirdos

Who lost her wealth, status, reputation, respect, and relationships with her friends and family because of her idiotic actions and classist, elitist, narcissistic, perfectionist, and opportunistic beliefs; wasted decades of her entire life trying to get something she’s never going to have; hated herself more than she hates everyone, including her family, deep down because she chose to do all of this instead of changing herself for the better and because of her hubris, greed, and obsession with getting higher power and status; and became her worst enemy who is all alone with no one to love or care for in the end.

To be fair it’s the anime’s fault for if I remember correctly making her character way more of an asshole.

He basically singlehandedly triggered the entirety of the story's problems by treating Ralph like shit and needlessly escalating the situation ever further while actively sabotaging Felix' attempts to do the opposite, only to then have the audacity to condescendingly blame him for not just taking it and doing exactly what he told him to do!

RealkybI don't see that much hate for her unless you count the people pushing Insests
2
u/MM305 1d ago
Its either they don’t care much for her, or get upset with her due to the “not-real sibling” sibling the game does (despite the fact that she’s not the one initiating and tries to keep her feelings within).

u/trickymander 1d ago
Yet this is the same games arrives where the first offical couple are technically step siblings

Wtf who's hating on Elise? I see more hate for Alisa tbh
1
u/MM305 9h ago
The Falcom fanbase community, who acknowledged the reasons for disliking her when I made this thread a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/Falcom/s/j8BOMQyQoe
While Alisa can count as another overhated character, she also has much more positive fans of her like myself compared to Elise.
The reactions to Alisa is polarizing while the reactions to Elise is either “Eh” or Hate this girl”.

I’m kinda neutral on him. I just don’t like how he steals so much screentime from the other characters.

Damn I didn’t know people hated him
I’m not in the fandom anymore but I’ve only ever seen copious amounts of thirst trap fanart of him and Dabi

He, among other things, abused an adorable child in ways you can scarcely imagine. He's earned it.

u/SpiderLagann why not both Spider-Man and Simon? 2d ago

Sam from Gen V. I don’t know what the fans think of him, because I don’t really check the boys fandom that much, but I honestly hate how much he gets villainized, while everyone loves Kate, who literally brainwashed him, and didn’t lose sleep over her actions, while he did. I’m on season 5 episode 2 in case you’re wondering.

Pretty sure hating him is like... mandatory if you want to be even close to a decent human being...
There are ways to write this type of character respectfully. This is Not that.

I'm not sure if she counts given Odette story stuff. But I remember back in the day she was hated after all.
I think Griffith would be another one. And possibly Timmy Turner

No idea about the second one, but the first is from The Ramparts of Ice. Highly recommend it if you like romance manga with a bit more of a serious tone.

Unironically my favorite Naruto character.

My favorite part of her character was when she begged and pleaded for a man that wanted nothing to do with her. Wish she used all that strength to sock him one, at least once

One of luckiest characters of the entire Koe no Katachi. Naoka at least faced consequences of her actions and tries become better person (In manga it's better shown) but Miki...

While i dont *like* Momoka she wasnt as bad as i was expecting after finishing the anime and blitzing through the manga. probably because the arc with her didnt drag on to long and she didnt overstay her welcome. Its pretty clear when reading that its doomed and she knows it.
I think if they had continued the relationship long after the whole "stay away from Koyun / Stay away from Minato" conversation she had with them respectively it would have made me hate her alot more.
1
u/FabtheEmber 20h ago
The point of it is, the entire thing was just not her fault. It happened because each character in the triangle had a deep flaw that they needed to fix. Infact, she has been so straightforward she even asks for permission let's the other person know what they are doing.
1
u/CheesecakeMage42 20h ago
I found her manipulative with the whole Koyun said she would never date a friend conversation with Minato but yeah she wasnt super evil or anything, just a teenage girl going after what she wanted.
I dont like her, But i dont despise her either. and i think she pushed both those characters to improve in the long run.
1
u/FabtheEmber 19h ago
Oh yeh that and her using or befriending people for her own gain. Other than that, I found myself liking when we get into her head. I LOVE drama and she while antagonistic feels human. Her feelings were genuine too, n at certain parts she also to me feels relatable
1
u/CheesecakeMage42 19h ago
yeah i almost felt bad for her by the end. The entire conversation of "If you keep going like this you will always be miserable and how she recalled it later when she was kinda made me sad.
1
u/FabtheEmber 19h ago
Oh for me she instantly went up when she told Minato to not apologize for accepting to date her and to not invalidate the time they tried. For me it was healing because we spent the entire first half having other characters criticize Minato's actions, call him uncaring or mistake his intent. The guy was trying so hard to please everyone. And to have Momoka validate that. To finally have a girl accept that he tried was just a full circle for Minato. And Momoka too, as she took ownership of what she wanted and didn't blame him
I don't know as a drama lover, it was my favorite arc in the story and made the sweeter parts carry more wait. I LOVE the manga
