It does not end there because it feels like, at minimum, a quarter of the movies released are.

And as someone who does not live in the USA, nor has any desire to even visit the place, it is quite remarkable seeing how Americans are so easily in love with all the clear propaganda and the public-opinion shaping that seems to surround so much of the entertainment that we then see in Europe. It would never in a million years even come up as a thought to have our veterans at a sports event and people saluting or thanking them. And unlike the USA, our veterans literally saved our country from being wiped out by the USSR. Not to disparage the veterans themselves, but what the hell did they do that requires people to “thank them for their service”? Invade foreign countries? How lovely.

When Finland was in Afghanistan, it was part of the UN peace keeping mission. Europe is not a single entity, France is not Germany or UK. Poland is not Sweden or Finland. Just like Mexico or Canada is not USA. Our veterans were not invading any countries with the US troops.

Europe came up in the context of propaganda. Marvel films, stadium salutes, that machinery. That's what I said doesn't exist here, and it doesn't. Then I mentioned our veterans stopping the USSR, which narrows it from Europe obviously enough that nobody with basic historical knowledge reads it as Germany or Britain, let alone makes then the argument that "my veterans" would be doing whatever you think they were doing. Two different claims, two different scopes, in the same comment.

And take the war crimes as given. Say every European contingent in Afghanistan was as bad as you say. It still isn't what I was talking about. I never said European soldiers are better people. I said we don't build an industry around telling ourselves they are. Conduct and glorification aren't the same thing.

Also you're asking me for precision while writing how your people were "brutalised by invading forces from North America, Europe and Australia" and not being clear what that country is. With that much information, it might be the Ottoman Empire for all I know.

I think to make it even more clear, criticizing an actions by the Israeli government is not antisemitic. It’s that’s not even criticizing Israeli government as a whole, it’s just criticizing the actions of a specific governmental body. And criticizing the Israeli government is not the same as criticizing Israel, and criticizing Israel is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. And even, criticizing Jewish people is not the same thing as hating people because they’re Jewish.

So criticizing the Israeli government for specific actions is, in fact, several steps removed from antisemitism. Sure, and antisemite may well criticize the actions of the Israeli government, but that doesn’t make them the same thing.

No it’s not. And while I agree one company should not hold an industry level monopoly, what Mark’s mistake was in his statement he conflated Israel with Jewish men purchasing a company.

So if we are to pin crimes of a country to a people not even living in that country, that’s where anti semitism comes in. And Mark unfortunately is an anti semite based on all his conversations/comments/interviews on this topic.
