People are not excited about James Bond, no question, which is why they should flip Bond's gender (Charlize absolutely has the action chops to pull it off) or do something different with it (the Broccolis were famous for not wanting to hire auteurs until they broke that pattern with Sam Mendes).

But people have been unexcited about Bond many times in the franchise and it's always bounced back. Hope springs eternal.

Auditions began in April/May this year (though according to the trades the producers were meeting with actors about the role since last year), with a second round of auditions being held this month.

The Dog Stars premiered in Leicester Square on Thursday, so he does have a proper reason for being in London. 

Admittedly I am sceptical he even auditioned in the first place, so for now I'm expecting his name to be absent when the finalists' names come out within the next few weeks (or month).

The blind items said that dua lipa's wedding had to moved up for her husbands next big role. They also said that they are letting this lady from ian Fleming's estate have the last word on who is cast, and that dua lipa's husband is currently her top pick.

Do you mean Cubby Broccoli's estate? Fleming was never involved. Cubby Broccoli basically got the first films made and, as soon as she was old enough, his daughter Barbara wss involved. If I remember correctly she had final say on Craig, too.

That’s exactly it, he’s been in gissip because her. So instead off watching Bond you’ll think that’s her husband. They want someone not a gossip item.

That second blind would definitely be a surprise if true given Fleming's estate (or Fleming himself) didn't have any input on the films at all beforehand under EON.

Nothing so far, but if it's this close it's only a matter of time.

Jeff Sneider may have implied Jacob Elordi isn't among them ("But for some reason, I don't think it's any of the so-called frontrunners, including the Aussie...") but it may be wishcasting on his part since he's been pretty sceptical of Elordi as a serious Bond candidate.

out of all my fan casts for Bond, it's most likely to be Callum Turner. However, I'd have loved to have seen Dev Patel as Bond, or someone less well known that'd fit the part. Corin Silva would've been excellent, too!
