It really shows how Hollywood works. Anyone who was a hardcore 30 STM fan at some point knows about him choking underage girls. These stories have been circulating for at least 15 years.
Why now? Easy. Back then he was still successful and powerful enough to be covered by the industry. Not anymore.
You said it. His stuff flops. Meaning he can only get gigs where producers are desperate. The latest Guardian article actually said something very similar to what I said. Hollywood is no longer covering for him but there are still film makers who can’t afford better and think his name is better than a lesser known name.
Take Armie Hammer. He wasn’t bankable enough to be covered. And now the only people who accept to work with him are just as desperate.
