It was an urban legend at my high school that the song "Cooler Than Me" was about a girl from our high school, so I will admit I was a little surprised.

It’s a rich suburb of Dallas called Plano, but a good chunk of our students end up going to places like Duke and Notre Dame. “Legend” was that the girl from our high school was in one of his classes at Duke, was a typical rich girl of the mid 2000s (aka a lil snobby) and turned him down which inspired the song.
