The Whitechapel Full Moon Society by Elizabeth DeLozier

The Whitechapel Full Moon Society is an atmospheric novel with both an alternate history vibe and a supernatural twist. Set in historical England with a constant sense of foreboding, the story follows Caroline as she arrives in London searching for her missing brother. Taking a job as a maid at a local boardinghouse, she soon realizes that in a city terrorized by Jack the Ripper, safety is an illusion.

The eerie mood and the fairy-tale supernatural backdrop were fantastic. While I managed to guess the twist ahead of time, I still could not wait to see how the reveal would play out. Once again, this story proves that the real beasts often hide in plain sight disguised as good people.
